I have been a public transgender organizer and educator for the last 5 years. I have met and spoken with hundreds of people, and read thousands of perspectives on trans people and why so many cis people hate us and feel so threatened by our existence.

I don’t think anybody wants to admit that one reason Pritzker isn’t resonating as much as Newsom is because he’s fat + the majority of people cannot get over their own (often unconscious!) bias that fat = dumb + that being “good-looking” inherently makes Newsom a better candidate 🙃🙃🙃

Honestly this letter changed my life when i was 10 and KA Applegate is still my hero. Plus she has a trans daughter whom she very vocally supports ❤️🔥
