One of the biggest challenges since the Gamescom demo for MD was figuring out animation skinning. Thanks to @kazade.bsky.social 's work on implementing the base framework for gltf anim channel import and @falcogirgis.bsky.social 's sh4zam work, Jeenie can smoothly move!

I'm finally at a stage where I'm no longer experiencing weird crashes. Thanks to my rudimentary VMU logger I was able to identify a bug that only popped up when played from /cd/.
dc-tool-ip (dc-load) and emulators did NOT! trigger it.

Anyway, the focus is on completing the game loop now!

Spent some time getting drifting and handbrake turns working and I'm glad I did, driving around feels so fun now! Just needs some tire smoke 🚕💨

I've been trying to implement music into my next Dreamcast gamejam project and it was infuriating. For 2 weeks I've been battling against random crashes caused by streaming adpcm encoded files to the AICA. The crashes were all race conds, but not in my code, rather in KOS. Today I changed to CDDA.

One of my favourite articles to work on of the past year was this one that digs into a Dreamcast rabbithole I happily fell into. It also showcases some of Sega's past steps taken for online gaming on console, and a mascot that deserves so much love.

I have been trying to implement GJK/EPA collision detection in C for two weeks now. GJK works, but my EPA code is screwing up the polytope faces and I can't see the bug!

Jesus CHRIST, he's done it again... Mad Sega #Dreamcast scientist, Esppiral, has taken another step towards correcting the timeline of gaming history by getting #VirtuaFighter 4's "Temple" stage rendering on a stock Dreamcast... this is a direct HW capture!

The port of Yume Nikki PS to PC is going pretty well!

It runs at 60 FPS and recently I:

- Implemented Silent Hill fog on PC
- Implemented 100% accurate PS1 dithering
- Implemented a CRT shader (you'll be able to turn it on/off).
