Need to hang laundry but can’t because the sparrows are out there. Couldn’t possibly interrupt them while they’re gossiping around the bird bath.

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.

I strongly recommend everyone do research sometimes 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘯.
Look something up on Wikipedia. Go to the little citation. Follow it. Read the article it's referencing. Follow links to the original interview. Read the paper written by the interviewee
It genuinely makes you appreciate journalism

Editing is not about rewriting, but about helping a story be the best version of itself. That can mean making things clearer for the reader, but it can also mean making them less clear.

We have zero plans to put AI in LibreOffice, of course. Our focus is privacy and letting you control your data. Some users want AI features and they can get them via optional extensions made by the community – but we won't put it in the app itself.

Copyright laws to protect creatives from AI data mining
Tech developers will not have a "free pass" to use creative works to train AI systems, but advocates say more protections are needed against copyright theft.

Can’t remember the last time my sister or dad asked how I was or what I’ve been up to. I exchange messages with both of them almost daily, and see sister once a week, so it’s not like we’re estranged. Been trying to figure out why spending time with them is so… draining. Why it leaves me invisible.

The basic structure of so much commentary, some in the guise of academic study, reduces to:
(1) generative AI products are detrimental to the goals of education
(2) therefore, the goals of education must change.
Without the tacit axiom that AI has authority behind it, that just doesn’t follow.

Generative AI, in both form and content, and whether looked on favourably or critically, seems to embody a collective hopelessness about the prospect of human learning and creativity, if not human knowledge altogether. It’s as if climate change had fans.
