As a Virgo who thoroughly enjoys classifying things, I appreciate this from Bill Kristol.
It’s wrong to lump all top Trump people in one category. There are differences among them. But they do seem to fall into three (sometimes overlapping) categories:

• Ordinary criminals (grift and corruption).

• Sex criminals.

• War criminals.

My concern is that's an assumption, especially when Gen A are growing in information environments dominated by platforms and the incentives they offer, and, as a society, we aren't educating them to navigate this new reality because we think we're still in the old information environment.

Indeed.
The problem is the information space we're competing in rewards outrage over evidence, and performance over substance. You can see it as going from competing in a marketplace of ideas to a marketplace of feelings.

In the platform economy speed of engagement is rewarded over slow facts and deliberation, so populist and conspiratorial moral-epistemic systems work extremely well, while slower functional VDA and technocratic moral-epistemic systems perform poorly.

Turns out they're not in it for Trump, they're in it for themselves.

Putin has been very consistent throughout the war: Ukraine belongs to him, the Ukrainians don't get a say in that, and the only peace Russia is open to is that of Ukraine's forced surrender and Russia's successful conquest.
Only outsiders are pretending otherwise, which makes themselves feel better.
"President Vladimir Putin has doubled down on his core demands for ending the war in Ukraine, stating that Russia will lay down arms only if Kyiv's troops withdraw from territory claimed by Moscow."
