The Court did not have the authority to "turn off" the Insurrection Clause—no one does—and by going to extra lengths to nullify it, the majority became criminally implicated in the insurrection themselves
It’s such a bad idea, when one of his crimes was calling forth an insurrection, that he’s actually forbidden from holding the office by a constitutional provision, which a unanimous Supreme Court invented a way to turn off.
To repeat: Maybe electing a life-long criminal to an office where he can pardon other criminals wasn't such a good idea.

We chatter about this a lot. Hope everyone is now seeing why an airline boycott could force Congress's hand on things like impeachment
not enough chatter about how frequently members fly and how attacking airport capacity directly affects them in a way that cutting SNAP does not

Great info. Note American Airlines is not the only villain here. "Airlines for America PAC" represents all the big US carriers.

Boycott them all. Don't fly until Congress fires Trump.

And the anger doesn't even have to be colorful, it just has to be practical. It has to be about pushing for immediate change, not blowing off steam.

I will believe people are getting fed up with fascism when a genuinely useful movement like @citizensimpeachment.com has more than 9K followers.
However angry you think you are, get angrier. Stop donating. Stop praising them for petty bullshit. Stop praising them for anything. Stop treating them as fun celebrities. Stop giving them any peace until they get serious about ousting the fascists.

Stop going to rallies where these sellouts are invited and stop trusting organizers who invite them. This has to go beyond primaries. Every sitting Democrat needs to feel that even their own base despises them until they demand an end to the Trump regime. Loudly. Daily. Like they fucking mean it.

These gutless fucks “cave” every day by not demanding Trump’s impeachment. Or hadn’t you noticed? Every day Dems sell out everyone’s rights, including kids’ right not to be molested, by failing to pursue the firing of Epstein’s rapist pal. Stop letting them get away with it & the caving will stop.
Seeing all the anger at Dems tonight and thinking, ”Folks still aren’t ripshit enough.”

There should be zero license within the party for TOLERATING THE TRUMP REGIME AT ALL, much less caving to it! Dems who aren’t screaming for impeachment should be drowned in boos daily—so, all of them.

Until Schumer is gone AND the party unites behind impeaching Trump. We need real opposition and leaders who can drive it.
No money to the DNC until Schumer is gone.

I think if we held a national referendum on expelling the president, VP, all of Congress, and all of SCOTUS and holding snap elections to replace them, the measure would gain overwhelming public support. I think as a people, we’re all pretty sick of all these fucking crooks.
They made the fight about healthcare (stupidly) and then couldn’t even fucking deliver on that!!!

I understand what the roll call vote totals are going to be but if the other Democrats had a problem with this deal they would be withholding unanimous consent on advancing it and loudly naming their colleagues as traitors.

We can take power back from the people who caused this crisis. "We won't fly again until Trump and his cronies leave power" is one of the strongest messages we can send to our government right now.

Sounds like this guy is prepared to blame crashing planes on The Libruls and not the party in control of government? Classic appeaser logic. "If we don't give the fascists what they want, all the harm they do is really our fault"
I see a lot of bad incentives for Democrats to be outraged tonight. It’s a short term CR. Dems have until the end of the year to get the health care subsidies. They can shut it down again if they have to. They’re playing with fire if they hold out too long. Planes will crash.

It seems like lots of voters are calling Chuck and telling him not to fold and since his job description is that he works for us then that's a clear signal Chuck Schumer does NOT represent his constituency so it should be easy for Dems to oust him as leader unless they're all secretly Chuck

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Schumer, in particular, does not want to win and is effectively playing for the other side. If he has in fact caved here, he has to lose his job over it. The fury from the left has to be so sustained and career-ending that no other Democrat sells us out like that for generations.
people are furious, Trump is getting all the blame for the shutdown, and the walls seems to be closing in, so here comes Chuck Schumer to throw Trump a lifeline and let him off the hook for this. Dems really don’t want to win

Starting to suspect anyone vowing to abolish ICE and prosecute these fuckers would win in a historic landslide
One thing I have marveled at is the way that crowds have been disciplined in capturing immigration enforcement’s lack of discipline.
Chaos erupted in Little Village.

I actually think what ICE is doing under Trump 2.0 is shaping up to be a world-historic campaign of human rights violations in an advanced industrialized ~democracy

I’m not sure I have many modern parallels. Japanese internment? Treatment of French-Algerians in the Algerian war? Those were wartime.
"When I picked up my granddaughter from the federal agents, she had a dirty diaper, a bruise on her face, and was developing a rash. She was exhausted and cried… My heart aches knowing this could happen to others, to my kids, or even me, despite being U.S. citizens.”

A lot of discourse hasn't caught up with how the strong/somewhat breakdown is even more brutal. His core base of strong support is already falling below a quarter of voters! Even what approval he has is increasingly soft and halfhearted. Whereas disapprovers are much firmer in really hating the man.

And guess what? WE WILL BE THERE WITH YOU.

We have been meeting alongside our members with their reps via video calls for weeks now.

Citizens' Impeachment is about action. Not empty words, vapid social media posts, or "hey, someone should do something about that."

We back our members up. Either myself or @citizensimpeachment.com's legislative outreach director will be there with talking points to make sure you are heard and keep the conversation focused on impeachment. bsky.app/profile/mlou...
I was able to schedule a meeting with a @repdelbene.bsky.social staffer to discuss impeachment pretty easily. While their official response was disappointing, they did seem intrigued by @citizensimpeachment.com’s Treason article.

P.S.: I'm not speculating. This already happened. I saw lots of big talk about Nuremberg trials during Trump's first term, too. Then came the Biden admin, and the big talkers with the big platforms got bored or distracted while "wine moms" and other people they see as riffraff screamed for justice.
Agree but will repeat that anyone not pushing for impeachment now will never push for “Nuremberg trials” later. Anyone sitting out the impeachment fight because it’s “unrealistic,” too “institutionalist,” etc. will make the same excuses when the time comes to bring fascists to justice in other ways.
Nuremburg trials is the moderate position
November 8, 2025 at 4:57 PM
Want to add that we shouldn‘t have to beg—“The legislature needs to oust the fascist leader” is a no-brainer, “The rapist insurrectionist should be expelled from government” is a very obvious and even moderate stance that any left-wing org should be able to embrace without hesitation or equivocation
Activists have been begging @50501movement.bsky.social to take a clear pro-impeachment stance, to get more specific than the slogan “No Kings,” to actually say straight-out that the fascist leader should be ousted. I still hope they do, but until they do, I don’t trust the Nuremberg talk—sorry
November 8, 2025 at 4:06 PM
I guess I’m not too impressed by Nuremberg talk right now unless it’s backed by CURRENT activism around the thing that can get us there—impeachment. So if the talk is from someone doing @citizensimpeachment.com work or similar, great, otherwise it sounds glib, like braggadocio about punching Nazis.
Read this thread. All of these ICE “facilities” are concentration camps. There is a reason they are not allowing oversight. Keep protesting this shit and informing people about this Nazi regime. Nuremberg Trials 2.0 can’t come fast enough.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.
