The first Chevy Bolt, like the Volt before it, was an under-appreciated engineering feat and a ton of fun to drive. Chevy is missing a chance to win the true market of the 21st century
GM has already killed the new Chevy Bolt… and it’s revamping its Kansas factory to make internal combustion cars, @andrewmoseman.bsky.social writes: heatmap.news/electric-veh...
The Chevy Bolt Is Already Dead. Again.

If I shot an unarmed person, I'd expect to be detained and questioned. Most likely I'd be charged, brought before a judge, and made to post bail. If I acted rashly and in anger, I'd expect to lose access to firearms. Why has none of this happened? #justiceforrenee

Shouldn't we expect the speaker of the house be better informed about current events? Aren't we paying him ever two weeks to be well informed for the good of the country? Even while other federal workers don't get paid thanks to his machinations!

Terrifying article. Essential reading
Hegseth is putting all of the American generals and admirals from around the world into a single room. Why might Hegseth do such an extraordinary thing? Here I discuss four possible reasons.

As I told @newrepublic.com, "Once last week, twice today, ICE has picked me up and thrown me on the ground. Honestly, it doesn’t compare to what our neighbors who are trapped inside the Broadview processing facility are going through. They’re committing crimes against humanity there."
I’m a Congressional Candidate. I Was Assaulted by ICE.
An interview with Kat Abughazaleh, a 26-year-old Democratic House candidate in Illinois, who was violently thrown to the ground twice at a peaceful protest in Illinois on Friday morning.

Interesting new definition of SFM

“Sustainable forestry is forest management that prioritizes mitigating and adapting to climate change during the next several decades as a critical aspect of meeting the social, economic, ecological, and spiritual needs of current and future generations.”
Very proud to be a coauthor on a new definition of sustainable forestry for our era of #climate crisis. Our definition calls for carbon levels in the atmosphere to be the touchstone for forest management decisions. Read it for yourself (no paywall), here: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Repubs keep bringing up trans people in sports to distract and divide. They don't want to discuss their awful, unpopular programs. Dems should refuse to play (see what I did there) and focus on govt policy that unites us-- protect the middle class, national parks, climate, and civil liberties
The only perspective anyone should have on the whole "trans people in sports" debate is, why the fuck are we talking about this so much at all?

This is so what govt should be, in so many ways!
The climate crisis is a health emergency. My bill forces the government to act like it.

"We’re creating something even more dangerous to the country: A masked monster of a law enforcement agency, one uniquely unsuited for its new power, authority, reach, and funding levels."
Spending $200 billion on ICE is a terrible idea

Of course the right hates #Superman. They have been fighting weekend for years, and what is "woke" other than believing in "truth, justice and the American way." And to me and many others the American way emphasizes kindness and courage. Call me woke anytime.

Why did it take Kristi Noem from Friday until Monday to authorize FEMA's search and rescue teams to deploy? Too busy with Fourth of July celebrations to do her job?
Mexico showed up to help Texas before FEMA let that sink in.

This has always been the GOP's strategy:

1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves.

2) Explode deficits

3) Use the debt as an excuse to demand cuts to vital programs that help millions.

4) Repeat.

The ornate orange dumpster makes a mockery of the constitution as he begins with immigrants. If you think he stops there, you are dreaming
Reminder: the First Amendment protects everyone who resides in our country. It doesn't matter if you have a green card or a visa or if you're undocumented. The Supreme Court has repeatedly affirmed that any person residing in the United States, regardless of status, is entitled to 1A protections.
