But people rarely respond to just link repositories, and I'm looking for more connection and collaboration-- which is why I got disillusioned with DreamWidth. Not much responding, even to toothy, thoughtful essays with appeals.

I came back here now w/ reflections on this because I'd continued using FB hoping it could be what I wanted & because of so many invested years. It's a lot like any relationship that's stopped being healthy/functional.
Ah, It’s been a few months since last I posted. I’ve not found a social media site that jives well with all my needs/wants, and it’s difficult to juggle many disparate ones.

Made another one for Kid, who loves spiders. Where & when we camp, we often see horny tarantulas on walk abouts, cruising; other campmates are frightened, so we're the ones rescuing them in our soup bowls & scooting them to safety. Seemed apropos to make a spider sticker.

This morning's convo was how, due to racism, "Veganism" - meaning the most visible outward projecting face of - is White (both literally & culturally), but that if one intentionally looked, there were, of course, plenty of Otherwise, & overwhelming purity politics were less at play there.

A campmate asked me to design some stickers. Just this morning I realised that if I had a button maker, I could make these into buttons. Which seems awfully obvious for an epiphany, but I am just a budget philosopher, so here we are.

I was dealing with my own over-sized misplaced feelings, so went out and stress-bought some sight word flashcards, and a bunch of fidgets/sensory tools for the kids.
I also picked up a toddler-sized geodesic climbing structure for Bird.

Sometimes I feel silly focusing so much on plants and decor, but the outside world is increasingly hostile to me, and finding or creating joy for myself is mandatory for survival.
