Absolutely, I was lucky to escape to an area that had strong DV charity support and surprisingly prompt access to counselling.

Others are not so lucky and its really frightening thinking about it.

I wish I could say that in my exp, situations where a suicidal person has survived domestic abuse and is not able to access psychological therapy on the NHS are rare but they are not. Mental health services need wake up!
