Yes they are! But we had ice before we had snow, plus high winds - and had lost a few branches already. Just the perfect storm for damage to trees!

Every storm we have, I'm relieved that the ash tree was cut down - for all that hurt. I apparently had a deep anxiety over it splitting during a storm (which three arborists confirmed was a significant risk!). Still, trees are sacred, and I like to be a good steward of their health.
