#Bettertogetout - love it!
Let's choose to be the captain of our own ship, because in this sham union, we are being dragged under, by a series of incompetent captains, from the bloody Westminster Titanic!

I bought an EV precisely because I live in a rural area with a bus every 2 hours and none on Sundays. It cost a lot more to buy than an equivalent petrol car, zero rated road tax has disappeared, grants for home chargers have gone and now a mileage tax?? Win for the petrolheads at westminster.
So, if I get this right, the UK Labour Gov's EV policy is to penalise people who need to drive longer distances in their electric cars. 3 miles in a city, fine. 25 rural miles to go to the nearest supermarket, hammer them hard. Do these people never think things through properly
😬🙄

Astonishing own goal from Reeves, nobbled by the fossil fuel lobby by any chance??
#evtax
This will literally kill the EV market.
It's already killed the E-Vans before they even bring this to them.
I drive an average of 1k miles per week in my work van.
52k per year (average).
£1560 per year in road tax if my van was electric.
13 vans in the fleet.
£20,280 per year in road tax.

Arrogance on stilts!! Who does she think she is?
#reeves
Arrogant, but not a surprise.

Indy supporters know that we could win every seat at HR2026 and UKgov intend to trot out the ‘once in a generation’ thing, and ‘now’s not the time’.

Labour know there will be an indy majority and Sarwar is a lost cause.

We also need limits on spending by political parties outside of the pre election period. Also need limits on London registered parties using cash raised in England to campaign in Scottish and Welsh parliament elections!
Nigel Farage has spent £1m taking out adverts in the papers to distract from the Nathan Gill Russian bribe scandal.

We can't let him buy himself out of this. We need an investigation into Russian influence in our politics.

Wow! Always worth checking
I was just thinking about contributing to the "charity" Feeding America. Until I discovered that the salary for its CEO, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, was approximately $949,866 in 2024, with her total compensation being $1,113,502. Apparently, feeding America isn't her top priority.

Some ideas here for Scottish Tourism, surely? @scottishgreens.org @snp.org
In 2026, Tampere 🇫🇮 and Dubrovnik 🇭🇷 are the European Capitals and Green Pioneers of Smart Tourism.

They're leading the way in sustainable, inclusive and innovative tourism, showing how destinations can support local communities while protecting what makes them unique.

🚨 SCOOP: Toyota and Aston Martin secretly lobbied a Conservative cabinet minister to weaken Britain’s climate policy.

We only know this because Democracy for Sale won a two-year legal fight to force the government to hand over the documents.

What is the point of democratic elections if #lobbyists have the power and cash to influence ministers behind the scenes?
Aston Martin pushed for an exemption for small car makers from the petrol engine ban.

Davies agreed — and the exemption appeared soon after.
