Posting this for anyone- myself included- who gets questioned for doing “white people stuff.” No, it’s our stuff. How do you think our ancestors survived, not just in the colonial diaspora, but in our ancestral homelands?
Being in nature is returning to our native roots also. 🍄 🌱
A govt shutdown is never caused by one party alone. Both parties are to blame when they can’t come to a compromise.
Shutdowns aren’t about one side winning and another “throwing in the towel,” they’re about our system failing because of greed and extremism on both sides.

Phew that last line. Yes! Makes me think about what Bob Marley said in regards to what being rich means.
I had a hike this weekend which gave me a richness money can’t bring. I shared it and that gave others joy. Oates is spot on about how Musk has no joy.

This part really opens your eyes. I’m telling my PCP, “I lift heavy, I job, I play pickleball, I hike and I limited my alcohol, yet I’m not seeing a decrease in belly fat.” When she said, “We need to test your testosterone levels,” I didn’t realize how much that affects how my body responds to work.
And i always wanted to be "bigger." So at first the weight was "fun." But the heavier breathing, joint pain, and being tired all the time wasn't. Again, IT WAS NOT THE WEIGHT THAT CAUSED IT. The weight was a symptom. Even after exercise and diet changes, i still couldn't really get lean anymore.

Anyway, if you are aging, and find yourself with less *drive, and feeling more tired than usual, it's worth the conversation with your pcp. No you won't get muscles just from taking it (you can't avoid the gym if you want to build muscle🤷🏾‍♂️.) BUT you may find it easier to burn fat. *non-sexual

U.S. sports leagues are being reactionary rather than being proactive and heeding the warning signs about prop bets.
Much like how police departments are more reactionary and focus on incidents, rather than working with communities to stop crimes before they start.
NEW YORK (AP) — Major League Baseball, sportsbooks say they will limit bets on individual pitches in response to pitch rigging scandal.

These are all places where the local cuisines are excellent, locally sourced and affordable.
You can eat well in many major cities if you ball out. But when it comes to restaurants serving the people in their neighborhoods and making you feel at home, these are the cities I felt did it best.
Oaxaca City, Mexico
Bologna, Italy
Honolulu
Tokyo

If anyone can tell the story of Luigi, and what he says about our world, it's @jhr54.bsky.social. Perfect match of subject and writer. Can't wait to read this book.
Richardson says if Kaczynski were still alive, he would have asked him: “Did you see the news about Luigi? What do you think? Is he the one you’ve been waiting for?”

In his new book Luigi: The Making and the Meaning, John H. Richardson shares his correspondence with Ted Kaczynski.

Bomani and Kid Mero recently said how voters are so misinformed that they will make the candidate with a known last name just because they think that person must be good at politics cause of who their parent is. Cuomo’s for example.
Christine Pelosi, daughter of Nancy Pelosi, has announced she’s running for the California State Senate.

Mary was lightweight the Luigi of her day. Every time she went to work for a wealthy NYC family, the members contracted typhoid. Every time an outbreak began, she left to find a new family to work for 🤭
The character Ellie (TLOU) and Mary have a similar immunity story.

DYK, the main reason restaurants make food handlers wear hair nets isn’t because they worry about hair getting in your food. It’s because people naturally touch their hair and it’s one of the warmest places for microbes to thrive. Along with it trapping dust and pollution.

Leaf blowers don’t have a schedule. They seem to have instincts. And those instincts tell them to fire up at the exact moment you’re trying to relax, meditate, or have a deep emotional breakthrough.

Fun Guy Searching for Fungi 🍄‍🟫 🍂

Foraging rule #1: The forest talks. You just have to walk slow enough to hear it. Moss becomes a map, fallen logs become elevators for entire fungal cities. Every mushroom is a reminder that decay isn’t an ending.
