Week later. Still the best take on the situation.
People are blinded by their dislike of Slot the coach and this Salah business is another stick they can beat him with. The masses wanted Salah benched a few weeks ago. His form very poor by his standards. There's no objectivity or fairness with football discourse.

What’s your most sensible idea that liberals will oppose?

Mine is that we deport every resident of Greystones (25k approx) in order to house our homeless population.
You’d end homelessness overnight, reduce inequality and instantly improve our political system.

That Grimaldi goal could prove massive for Liverpool’s top 8 hopes.

The percentage of American fans who believe Salah has done nothing wrong is fascinating.

Really struggling with some presenting this as a binary choice between Slot and Salah, and that to defend or criticise either is to back/attack the other. That's reductive, juvenile nonsense. Slot is having a poor season, and Mo is out of order. These are not mutually exclusive and #LFC comes first.

Can anyone think of one case in the history of world football where a player doing what Salah has done has resulted in a positive for the team? Anything other than exclusion from the squad would give the signal of player power Man Utd and Chelsea have struggled with for years.
If the club wanted to get rid of Salah then they've handled the aftermath of his outburst in the dumbest way possible. They've told the world "here's a player we no longer want" and tanked his value because everyone now knows we want to get rid. #LFC

Any hypothetical new manager with an ounce of self respect wouldn’t let him take to the field again. What sort of message would it send early?
Slot was just asked the question. Do you think he's played his last game for Liverpool?

Slot "I have no clue. I cannot answer that question in this moment of time."

The Salah thing is a storm in a teacup. If it is the end please note that club legends leave clubs in much more acrimonious circumstances and are remembered as legends. H acting like a petulant child won’t dent his 8 years and 350+ goal contributions for us.

For any Liverpool fans in search of good news. Here’s some
Tom Hicks was the quintessential private equity sports owner. He bought the Stars, the Texas Rangers, and Liverpool FC, loaded them up with debt, pissed off stakeholders, and either sent the teams to bankruptcy or was run out of town on a rail. www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/...

Huge number of Liverpool fans seem delighted with Salah potentially turning us into post 2010 Chelsea when ageing players can down tools and get a manager sacked on a whim.

For the first time, I feel sorry for Slot.

This was a good performance undone by Klownaté.

The team showed effort and quality, and I'll never be upset when that's the case.

Such is football. I've got your back 9n this one though, Arne.

Completely agree. The only place for him would be No. 9 same way Portugal carry Ronaldo.

We spent £200m on No. 9’a this summer. So unfortunately writing looks on the wall.

However the way Isak has been playing I’d nearly argue Mo should start ahead of him.
Salah's days of chasing back are done. He's a weakness defensively because he has no intention of pressing or chasing back as is needed.

Personally in Liverpool's first 11 for me, there's no place for him as much as I love the man for what he has given on and off the field.

The Hillsborough news and Solider F news coming so close together is not a coincidence.
Really darkened my mood this Hillsborough news today. Those retired police officers/scum all going about their daily business with knighthood’s and rosy pensions with absolutely no conscience or regret about their actions makes me absolutely sick.
We’ve always known the truth. But the mud has stuck

An utterly miserable evening. Even at 0-0 and 1-1. If you want blood sack Slot. It doesn’t make Salah and Van Dijk 6 years younger. Bigger argument to sack Hughes because it looks like a 14 year old was in charge of recruitment.

@unamullally.bsky.social great piece about media outlets and x this weekend. I’d also question why tax payer money is still being spent on media teams to post on x. What benefit does the HSE x account give to the public? How many state and semi state accounts are on the platform?
