Me: Well, my car is mobile, surely there's somewhere nearby I can drive us that escaped the storm and we can take a walk without risking serious injury.

Some people are trying way too hard at work today. This is not a real day, it is at best like a half, fake day. It's a day for chuckling at tasks and shrugging.

(Also apparently it's a day for me to manifest all the soreness from my multiple wipeouts on the neighborhood ice.)

At work. Roads were actually generally fine, but someone really unplugged everyone's "good driving sense" computer and forgot to plug it back in.

You ever just, like, look at Chad and Cameroon next to each other and realize they look like a dude in a beret playing a saxophone?

It has been zero (0) days since two 2-cup Pyrex measuring cups fell out of the kitchen cabinet directly at my face. Remarkably, neither of them broke this time, whether because of or in spite of my catch-juggle-drop routine.

Doing a book cull for the first time in years for a local synagogue book sale. I have 3 book categories: (1) might read again; (2) definitely won't read again, donate; (3) definitely won't read again, but can't donate because I am attached to the feeling of remembering who I was when I read it.

Was thinking I might use tomorrow's Red X Day to brew the ale that S got me last year. It's all grain. I've... never actually done all grain brewing before. Done a ton of extract brewing; how much harder could it be? Did some reading about it. Yikes. Boy am I not ready for that on a day's notice!

That's, uh, 24 hours of precipitation? That's a lot of hours! That's kind of all of the hours.
Animated winter storm timeline

Here’s our best simulation of how this snow and ice storm may evolve in the Beltway area:

Snow (blue) arrives 10 p.m. to midnight tonight, changes to sleet (pink) around 10 a.m. Sunday, then flips to freezing rain (purple) by evening, ending shortly before midnight.

S made an offhand remark about the changes in Nats games' broadcast plans for next season (essentially, MASN goes away and they're all-in on their flavor of MLB.tv), and that has me down a wormhole on our Verizon plans and I am MAD ABOUT IT
