I have spent my entire professional life understanding the British point of view on foreign policy. I get certain historic and cultural differences. But the wilder the world gets the more infuriated I become by the dismissive attitude many Brits have towards the EU as a peace project./

🇺🇦 General Zaluzhny is spot on. Russian casualty numbers cited by Trump and Rutte are irrelevant. Moscow would gain millions of conscripts and vast resources if Kyiv falls. Either integrate Ukraine's army into the European Army, or they will be integrated into the Russian Army

It seems some are under the impression that the war continues because Ukraine keeps hoping to liberate its territories, whereas it continues because Russia keeps hoping to occupy all of Ukraine.

As opposed to Trump's incredibly weak "sanctions" on Russia, this shows its true priorities. Romania is a front line state, and the US is going to weaken Romanian security now and for the foreseeable future.
This is why European states need to make sure Ukraine wins.

So what would be incitement then? How violent would his words have to be before he was deemed a threat to this country?

A big undercurrent of the « NATO expansion was bad » claim is that the Cold War was a period of peace/stability in Europe. Sure, life in a NATO country was good. Life under the Soviet boot meant dictatorship, indignity, and shortages. Stop blaming EEurope for wanting to share in the peace/stability!

Credible security guarantees for Ukraine (immediate NATO membership, nuclear umbrella and/or foreign troops) should be presented to Russia as a fait accompli. Asking Ru to agree is useless because anything Ru signs onto now isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.
