Then the Telegraph managed to stumble on the mind bogglingly obvious reality…

There are several different TYPES of tree within their luxury range and so the tree DESCRIPTION was written on the box.

They are all displayed in a MERRY CHRISTMAS labelled box

Then we got these gems from Susan Hall:

"It's all this stupid nonsense about offending other people and other religions. Well, blow that. This is supposed to be a Christian country. We have Christmas. Let's celebrate it."

(How is she not embarrassed?!😳)

So, @telegraph.co.uk was off a strong start on the nonsense scale by having to admit the tree was being sold in their Christmas range while in the very next line saying it was being sold with “no reference to Christmas”!🙄

Susan Hall - Leader of the London Conservatives - shared it a few hours later with the words “No no no Tesco they are Christmas trees”

I mean she’s not wrong! They ARE Christmas trees and there’s not a person out there who doesn’t know that! 🤷🏼‍♀️

But we need the faux outrage, apparently!

Thanks again Don for taking the time and nailing the key arguments here. Also the proposed tax is only on the excess over £10m, so someone with £11m wealth would “only” pay £20k.

I wrote about my chats with the @patmillsuk.bsky.social over on Substack.

My takeaway was one of human decency. Good people really trying to help those less fortunate than themselves.

@dalevince.com & @stephenstroud.bsky.social laid out the objectives so well.

Have been thinking about “immigration has been tearing this country apart.” Surely I’m not the only person to think that it isn’t true, but inflamed rhetoric about immigration by politicians is what is tearing this country apart and so statements like that only makes it worse.

For different reasons - jobs, study, family!

Most went to more ethnically diverse countries (Australia, Canada, America + UAE) than the UK!

Because an increasingly ethnonationalist Goodwin has an ever narrow view of who is "British" he instinctively imagines all these British emigrants are white

Labour face evisceration here in the UK. A centrist party cannot lurch so hard to the right without voters abandoning them. Their current course is electoral suicide, and it's possibly already too late.

Very important for people to read this portion of the Epstein Files Transparency Act so you understand 1) why Mike Johnson was so upset today, and 2) what is NOT permitted to be redacted by the DOJ.

This is what happens when the Centre Left follow far right policies on immigration. Is Labour watching? Those Danish immigration policies still looking attractive?
Danish Social democrats suffered a massive defeat in Copenhagen last night. They incurred similar defeats across the country and there will be a general election in the next year. In Copenhagen the far-left Enhedslisten (the unity list) won the most mandates followed by the socialist people's party.

This is after he spent 5 months trying to prevent this bill from getting a vote.

I’ve been wondering whether there might be a bit of a bulge in interest only mortgage repossessions

The number has doubled, according to the 240 councils that provided comparable data - from 1,517 in 2022-23, to 2,370 in 2023-24
