If you're curious as to how much it bothers Michael Rosenbaum to platform the rape cult lieutenant and former co-worker Alison Mack, consider that when asked, this is what he said about a video game console.

"We criticize Catholic papal infallibility, saying no man should be blindly followed, why then do we hold Eduardo V. Manalo on the same level? Why do we hear his name more than Christ’s in worship service? Why do we have activities such as ‘OneWithEVM’ and most recently ‘Obey and Never Complain?”

"There’s a clear double-standard when it comes to which journalists are allowed to be (and rewarded for) being morally fluid, and who is held to a separate standard. And it’s not skill but gall that sets them apart. Their ability to slink into the world of the rich and powerful is no coincidence."

The middle ground between "pay people for their work" and "shit something out of a computer so we don't have to do that"? What would the middle ground be? Paying people half a paycheck for a full job?
"Surely there's a middle ground here?" The CEO of Helldivers 2 studio Arrowhead says people "jump to extreme takes" when debating generative AI, and that there needs to be more nuance in the discussion.

This might come off as a petty bunch of making something out of nothing but I do not appreciate seeing a Twitch notification telling me not to miss the "Together for Good kick off," which turned out to be a Wicked livestream. Big studio movies I expressed no interest in are not what my inbox is for.

We need a National Book Awards-style game award: every year a committee of five freaks is handed the keys to all the prestige, they pick stuff no one's heard of, readers (players) get mad, the committee members get defensive, no one is truly happy, and then next year we do it all again

There is more content in the history of content ever to keep people content with what they have if it means holding principles against the encroaching of bullshit ideas, dogshit techniques, and batshit creators. Those who argue we will cave lack an imagination outside of feckless consumerism.
100% this. Like, there are other choices-- let me know if you're using AI so I can make an informed decision to not buy your game. I'd go and play just older games, no sweat. If it was a franchise or series I dug, I'd be sad for a second and then drop it and move on.
Someone called me a liar for saying I wouldn't buy any new games if every game suddenly had gen AI content in it, as if old games don't exist. These people are Desperate.

he’s a provider of access to money, connections and beautiful women and girls — everything that these people need to affirm their own status. being rich and powerful is a grift which requires other to bolster & buy in. That’s the service Epstein provided.
Something that’s so striking in these emails is how…unimpressive Epstein is. He comes off as a pompous, sub-literate lech. Yes everyone is so mortifyingly solicitous of him! All fawning and flattery! Why?????

It was silly, to be clear, but silly in a "haha that was a fun action flick" way, not a "haha, i suddenly feel complicit in something" way

first off, when someone assigns a score to a game in a published review, it's etched onto the eye of god. this number becomes integrated into material reality. so yeah think about that before you try bringing your "opinion" into your criticism
November 12, 2025 at 5:46 PM
One of the most frustrating things about being a critic and/or a journalist is the way that some weirdos (gamers, hostile devs & pubs) expect us to "consider" everything, invoke context for us to excuse them, and account for literally every external variable that our work could impact.
do not blame me for writing a low scoring review, i did not create the metacritic ecosystem, i do not benefit from the metacritic ecosystem, and it is not my fault the metacritic score is a kpi at these companies

I hate the idea of anyone being effectively held hostage by review scores, whether that’s devs or individual reviewers or entire outlets. But I especially resent the suggestion that critics should purposely hamstring themselves when it comes to review scores. Fuck that. Die mad or make a better game

Yep. Some go into journalism to have access to power, to be power's handmaiden & PR. Others go into journalism to question & illuminate the operation of power & how some norms/systems hurt the powerless. Wolff just 1 of many examples showing--again--the former is very common& usu far more lucrative.
Aside from every other repulsive thing about these Epstein emails, they offer direct confirmation of Michael Wolff as one of the sketchiest creeps in a teeming universe of gross behavior

The notion abusers need to resort to conspiracies and subterfuge is more comforting than the truth that many people will readily look the other way when confronted with sexual violence if doing otherwise would even slightly inconvenience them
Pizzagate: If you replace the word “hot dog” with “little boy” and “pizza party” with “child sex orgy,” you will see the lengths these elites go to cover up their crimes.
