How are you feeling about Queta? I'm a little bummed that the era of 5-out bigs like Horford and KP is over, but Queta seems like he's going to be really solid for the archetype of big that he is (big + strong, high-energy, rim protector, rebounder, etc).

All this does is give businesses with managers who have no experience with puzzles and no understanding of how much real effort it takes to build them an excuse to avoid hiring professionals to make their crosswords. "Well the AI can just make a crossword for us" NO IT CAN'T! Not a good one, anyway.

Anyone who has ever made a crossword -- the professional kind in newspapers, puzzle blogs, crossword tournaments -- will tell you there's actual joy in building and wrestling with the near-infinite possibilities of a grid and writing pitch-perfect clues yourself. You can't do this with a chatbot!

The best new beer I tried in October:

2XJuice Jolt, by Southern Tier

A juicy IPA that's absolutely loaded with juice. A combination of tangerine, pineapple, guava, grapefruit. Plenty of hops, too - Mosaic, Citra, Idaho 7, Simcoe, HBC630, Amarillo, CTZ. A lot going on here! And it's all very tasty.

The best new beer I tried in August:

Extra Lush, by Fremont

This was pretty fantastic. It's a triple IPA, apparently - and that means all of the hops, all of the floral and tropical flavors, all of the booziness. All of everything. This is a big, strong, powerful IPA.

The best new beer I tried in August:

Thicket Blend #2, by Side Project

A sour that's brewed with lots and lots of Oregon blackberries. It's delicious. It's sweet, fruity, a little tart, a little funky... and just really, really deeply flavorful. This one was just awesome.

The best new beer I tried in July:

Roach Clip, by Great Notion

Their description calls it a "loud IPA" that's "full of potent citrus and tropical fruit character right up to the last drop," and I think every word of that is earned. This is hoppy and juicy and really full bodied. It's excellent.
