I've been following media coverage of immigration in detail over the last six weeks. There hasn't been a day during that period that the British people weren't told that asylum seekers are a drain on society or a danger to women and children

Ah, I have some amazing Tiptree award t-shirts that she created. She was very much appreciated by the Wiscon community and I always thought she was pretty cool when I encountered her there.
Sad to hear that Freddie Baer died earlier this week, of cancer.

I didn’t know her, but she was part of the #WisCon community, and she used to create art for the Tiptree Award (now the Otherwise Award); for example, see (www.lulu.com/shop/freddie...).

HOLY SHIT. They found the genes for fibromyalgia - and it's *not* autoimmune, it's the central nervous system. It's very cool to see some progress made on the thing that's ruined my life since late teenage years!
Medical Republic: 'Fibromyalgia finally gets a genetic fingerprint'

'Additionally, certain risk loci overlapped with long covid (BPTF) and ME/CFS (OLFM4, RABGAP1L/GPR52), two poorly characterised disorders, albeit with different lead variants.'

This Veterans Day, I’m thinking of the millions of Americans who have served in uniform — and how our government is failing them right now.

Words aren’t enough, we need actions. Fund the VA. Fund mental healthcare. And end endless wars.
