Working on a diploma in ecological landscape design. Learning about grade, water movement, bylaws + best practices. Problem-solving this case study has been fun + challenging. Focus on plants that are low maintenance, zone 4, drought + deer tolerant. Looking at a lot of native plants which I love!

Ooh, that was fun! I didn’t get photos while we worked, but folks from the neighbourhood + beyond came out today for the second part of our boulevard beautification project. Today we moved 8 yards of soil into place + laid out + planted lots of native plants. #nanaimo #vancouverisland #nativeplants

Can’t get enough of this neighbourhood cat who blesses us with her presence every few days. Her eyes are an incredible green-blue colour and she seems fairly young. She’s skittish, playful and looks for pets and scritches from time to time.

Apparently the process this fall is even more restricted + looks like walk-ins are not allowed. Of course it’s weeks too late - we’re already in a wave. The vaccination program should have started in Aug to protect kids in schools + be layered with cleaning the air via HEPA + ventilation. #bcpoli
Update: vaccine booster appointments must be booked through the Get Vaccinated provincial system - either online getvaccinated.gov.bc.ca or by calling 1-833-838-2323. Booking directly with a pharmacy won’t work anymore.
