Apparently the fans in Cincinnati were chanting "F*** the Mormons" at the game against BYU on Saturday. This is obviously rude and classless and altogether what I expect from benighted corn-fed Midwestern rubes. But it made me think of this, so maybe it's ok:

Brady Corbet's movie will be so dirty they'll have to bring back a rating that hasn't been used in 35 years. The smut will be so powerful that the NC-17 won't be sufficient, the MPA will revert to being the MPAA and revive the X. Hammer pants will also be back in style.
Brady Corbet’s next film will be X-rated, shot entirely on 70mm, and span three centuries.

I don't need mac & cheese at Thanksgiving. Potatoes, stuffing, rolls, you have enough carbs already. It wasn't part of our big family Thanksgivings growing up and I've just never seen a need to incorporate it. I can only eat so much.

I just watched THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL (1985) and I'm 40 years late to this, but Geraldine Page is fantastic as this slightly dotty old lady tryna get back to her hometown. (She won the Oscar, which is why it was on my watchlist.) It's a really great performance, warm and theatrical in the right way.

I just watched THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL (1985) and I'm 40 years late to this, but Geraldine Page is fantastic as this slightly dotty old lady tryna get back to her hometown. (She won the Oscar, which is why it was on my watchlist.) It's a really great performance, warm and theatrical in the right way.
I remembered something else in AIRPLANE! that I was surprised my Gen Z friends knew about: Tupperware parties. Did those not go away as long ago as I thought? I swear I haven't heard of anyone having a Tupperware party since I was a kid in the '80s (not that they were inviting me to them anyway).

Rewatched SPIRITED (the Will Ferrell/Ryan Reynolds Scrooge musical) with some of the niecephews, who had already seen it too. What a delight that movie is! And the songs rhyme! I like it when songs rhyme. Rhyming used to be a requirement, but hardly anything on the radio rhymes anymore.

No Cinemark, either, or at least not in Utah. Here we're only getting it at the crappy Megaplex chain (still preferable to Netflix, I guess).
For those in the US - this is the best way to find if there's a theater near you playing our movie when it opens 11/26. Sadly no AMC on this run, but Landmark, Alamo and other wonderful chains can keep it running as long as they want, even past the 12/12 Netflix drop. www.wakeupdeadmanfilm.com
