Has anyone found a better professional greeting/departure gesture than a handshake?
I dislike them and hugs are probably unprofessional. I tried to get zen bows going during the height of the pandemic but it never caught on.
I just don’t love handshakes, we’re in 2025 and they feel so colonial.

In April, white oganizers with 50501 Los Angeles harassed Erik, a well-known and respected Black activist, calling the police on him because he would not move his Black Panthers merch table out of a public area away from their protest. After an uproar, 50501 LA organizers issued an apology.
Today at the protest downtown, white organizers with 50501 called the police on a vendor for selling Black Panther merchandise in their protest even though he only had a small table and stayed out of the public right of way.

I’m intrigued by this solution and have to admit I’m uneducated about it. Looking forward to researching Seoul’s governance structure.
I do think places like NYC and LA could benefit from the Seoul solution... make the city it's own tiny province/state and let them have a government for them and another for the outer areas. It means the city can't out-vote the countryside and the country can't silence the city.

In the thread “a lot of things worth doing donmt make money” - i don’t want everything I do to need to make money. Money is just a replacement token for survival. We can survive. Let’s enjoy it. I don’t need to make money off enjoyment. The best things truly are free or illogical.
The thing that’s so galling is these assholes don’t even know what they’re destroying. They think weather forecasts must happen independent of the government, like there’s big money in telling you whether it’s going to snow in Sioux Falls tomorrow. People barely pay for news as it is.

This feels like an unnecessary categorization to fuel negativity.

The quick quieting of the CFPB by some of the very people they’d be protecting the consumers from needs to be noticed.
