sort of incredible to read a review that doesn't just made a vague nod at AI being bad, but actively reckons with the ways in which falling obsessively to AI usage actively obliterates the artistic intent and integrity of the work you've made.

Got tickets the last 2 years, while at Kotaku and while newly freelance. It was a "media invitation."
This year, it seems Game Awards tickets were only offered to one person at every outlet that was a part of the jury. Unclear how many were offered to devs, but do let me know!

i guess you can't spell arc raiders without AI 😔 this sucks and if you're a dev you should be speaking out about it!
Not to be the fun police but I do hope people know that Arc Raiders does use generative AI for voice acting, and by supporting the game you're letting higher-ups know that this is an okay practice.
They try to downplay this on the Steam store page by describing the AI usage as vaguely as possible.

Our industry does have peer-voted awards, the most visible being DICE, Game Developers Choice Awards, BAFTA. There are scores of smaller developer-led awards too. We do have spaces to celebrate and uplift one another, please support and watch these shows! The teams work hard for the devs!
