Finally finished putting some words down about why I love Death Stranding so much and why it's become a comfort game for me.

Free tier and paid members can access it on my site, Geryow, now geryow.com/wheres-my-bb...

What RSS readers are people using these days to read both on desktop and mobile?

Because I think I'd like to move away from Feedly.

We're giving up on trying to watch Iron Fist season 2.

Never got round to it while on Netflix. Last year after watching Daredevil: Born Again S1, decided to work through all the Netflix Marvel. (Had watched some shows.)

Went for a walk this afternoon with kiddo.

Along one grass verge, we counted 30 molehills.

Skyrim. And it's more than 500. Far more.
Name a videogame you've put 500 hours into.

Toddler logic:

Kiddo having a tantrum because I too am eating an orange with my breakfast, because to her it's her orange.

"My orange," says my toddler.

"Other people are allowed to eat the oranges," I say.

*Exit toddler stage right, crying and howling.*

Happy #ValentinesDay 💘

I was once paid to write about the history of Valentine's Day. But this was back in the bad days of pre-2012 Penguin update Google Search.

But here's the thing, we're closer to shitty Google Search than ever before.

So, here's a Valentine's Story

Okay, I do quite like these metal dice, but I don't use them for Dungeons and Dragons that often.

Tonight, I made an exception.

What with it being Valentine's Day tomorrow, I decided to write about the one time a black hat SEO company paid me to write a blog post about the history of Valentine's Day... and how we're shifting back to the days of pre-Penguin Google. Time is a circle, and I hate it.

Currently working on a blog post about the time I was asked to write a blog post about the history of Valentine's Day during the bad days of black hat SEO, and then talking about the shit that went down at Google search in 2019 and the rise of AI slop content.

Time is a circle.

My proper, local wool/yarn shop is closing at the end of March.

Truro Wool, how you have enabled me to knit some epic projects over the last 12 years.

From dice bags, to hats and scarves, to the blanket I wrapped my child in when we left the hospital.

I am going to miss this store so damn much.

I'm a little sad that Great Britain doesn't have any ice hockey representation at the Winter Olympics.

So, for now, I'm cheering for the Canadian and Danish teams.

Mark doesn't quite top his Sex and the City 2 review but he nearly doesn't pause for breath kicking the crap out of this bribe, sorry, "movie."

The musical choice made in it are absolutely bonkers.

Someone's released a Python script so that you can check whether any of your LinkedIn connections are in the Epstein Files.

I might be trying this out in the coming weeks.

Here are my books on #writing or tangentially related to it. Why? Now that I'm not doing marketing as my day job anymore, and haven't been for nearly a year, today after work I decided to re-prioritise the books in my office. Marketing books are now hidden...

The rise of fake AI knitting and crochet patterns, makes me glad that before 2022, I'd been collecting books on knitting and crochet.

So, even if loads of AI craft sites pop up, I've got books that can tell me how to do various techniques.

Makes sense, like when everyone finally fell in love with U2 once Apple forced their album onto everyone’s phone.
Microsoft and Blackrock have "have largely given up on organic adoption [of AI] by consumers. They have moved on to a new dream of forced adoption mandated by government and managerial coercion."

Finally got to watch Sinners this evening.

Wanted to watch it last year in the cinema but missed my chance due to various reasons.

But, I treated myself to it on Blu-ray recently.

I hope it actually wins a bunch of its Academy Award nominations.

Sssh, don't tell the knitting squad, but I've been doing some crochet to unwind these past few weeks. It's a scarf.

(Using up wool from previous projects.)

Just finished watching Tron: Ares for the first time.

It's not a bad film.

It's not the best, sure.

But it's not bad, just reasonably enjoyable.

(Also, someone behind had clearly watched Mr Robot, going by the use of Bash.)
