Today there was an attempted ICE raid in Bensonhurst & community members showed up. Even though NYPD collaborated with ICE by trying to disburse the crowd; community members stood their ground & ICE left without kidnapping a single person per the rapid response groups I'm on. We protect us!

If you have to get permission to teach in your area of expertise from people who are definitionally not qualified to adjudicate your expertise then you are no longer working at a university.

You’re working at a state propaganda factory.

The retrenchment will be nonsensical
The regents apparently voted to ban courses from advocating "race or gender ideology, or topics related to sexual orientation or gender identity" without campus president approval

First, what does it even mean to "advocate ... topics related to sexual orientation or gender identity"?
“Texas A&M University System regents voted Thursday to limit how instructors may discuss matters like gender identity and race ideology in classrooms, tightening the rules in a conservative state where debates over academic freedom have flared for months.”

If you have tenure at Texas A&M and aren't maliciously emailing the president a dozen times every day to ask if you can say this or you can say that, then what's the point in having tenure?

you could fact check this — there aren’t 30 million illegal immigrants and there is no evidence that the presence of an immigrant in say houston has any impact on housing in madison, wisconsin — or you could note straightforwardly that this is just nazi rhetoric
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

NEW: Dems easily flipped the sheriff's office in Pennsylvania's Bucks County, a big swing county in the Philly suburbs.

So? The incumbent GOP sheriff had contracted with ICE. His Dem challenger promised to end the contract.

Now he wants other swing-state Dems to look at his victory as a lesson:

I’m still mad. This unintelligent, deeply vapid, bovine podcast discussion is an insult to the existing (powerful, often brilliant, complex, challenging and nimble) canon of feminist works critiquing contemporary capitalism.

You’ve read nothing. We can see clearly that you’ve read nothing.
As long as you are leaning into the fascist zeitgeist, it seems that you too can be invited on a New York Times podcast to espouse your utterly vacuous and historically and politically illiterate views on feminism.
