Britain is one of the world’s richest countries. Why do a third of children live in poverty?

It is a political choice - years of austerity, real wage cuts, regressive taxation, unchecked profiteering, disappearance of social housing, hijacking of govts by corporations/rich.
Britain is one of the world’s richest countries. So why do a third of its children live in poverty? | CNN
Child poverty has reached a record high in the United Kingdom as the country’s cost of living soars and its social security safety net falters following years of government austerity.

Albo’s party is on the teat from gambling.

Gambling should not be able to advertise. Just as tobacco cannot. Gambling should not be able to sponsor sport, gain naming rights to sporting venues, nor should it be teamed up with alcohol as some sort of ‘Aussieness’.

Gambling is a predatory blight.
I asked the Prime Minister to allow Labor MPs a free vote on banning gambling advertising. His response? The same old guff to sidestep the uncomfortable reality that he’s the one holding this reform back #auspol #politas

Rusties still willing to greenwash the @albomp.bsky.social Gov climate change action failures as being the fault of the Greens, because the Greens want real action, not the fossil fuel apologist agenda of the Government.
Do the Greens want environmental law or do they want PERFECT environmental law?
The Greens have been a massive obstruction to action on climate change in the past making this mistake.
Surely not again.
