Forgot to share this the other day, but menus are pretty now.

Today I'll keep adding and animating more moves. Got some pretty fun ones in already, looking forward to sharing them at some point.

Alright, now the "command" button is gone and the critter automatically locks on to enemies, and goes back to the player when they're far enough.

There's definitely a game here, I just don't know if it's a game other people will enjoy. I kinda like it, and I think I'll like it even more when everything is animated and polished, but I dunno.

There are now different room layouts and it remembers whether or not you've cleared rooms. It also generates boss rooms (which are always connected to just one room) and treasure rooms - but right now those are just empty.

It might be getting to a point where I could start making actual art soon.

And now it's a real map! Sort of. Sadly I have to go to bed now and won't be able to touch the game again for a few days. It's been fun, though :)

Now I can generate little dungeon maps. This was simultaneously easier and harder than I thought it would be.

The player can now toss healing items at their critter.

Starting off, critters now have stats and levels, and damage dealt is displayed.

Alright, some people wanted to see the early stages, so here we go. Real-time critter combat, where you don't control your critter directly, but instead give it orders and lead it around the stage.

I spend so much time starting projects that require weeks before I can even show them, months if not longer to finish, with dozens or even hundreds of animation frames for every character.

So it was nice to take a break from that and finish something in a day and a half, without animating anything.
