For House Speaker Mike Johnson, the shutdown was the perfect scapegoat, and keeping it alive was the only way for Trump and the House GOP to avoid a vote on releasing the Epstein Files — a vote Trump was nearly certain to lose. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/it-w...

If Epstein’s claims are true, Trump lied about his involvement & knew about the abuse

Bondi & Blanche, Trump’s former personal lawyers in DOJ, ignored their duties to the Constitution & victims

This is corruption, plain & simple

Is the American Gestapo's message that it's better to bleed out on a horse than on the ground?

And note to the semi-literates in the Trump administration: It's "lay" when you place something, "lie" when you recline on your own.

Trump Org’s income in the first half of 2024 was $51 million.

In the first half of 2025 it rose to $864 million.

A massive percentage came from foreigners.

It should be the biggest scandal in the history of American politics.

But few even care. www.reuters.com/investigatio...
Inside the Trump family’s global crypto cash machine
The U.S. president’s family raked in more than $800 million from sales of crypto assets in the first half of 2025 alone, a Reuters examination found, on top of potentially billions more in unrealized “on paper” gains. Much of that cash came from foreign sources as Donald Trump's sons touted their business on an international investor roadshow.

A friend of mine was on Charlie Kirk's "watch list" of Black professors. She received so many death and rape threats that her university offered her a security detail for the walk to class.

This is Kirk's legacy.

You would never know it from reading all of these legacy newspaper op-eds about him.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion, after getting $1.2 trillion richer over the past year alone.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is getting squeezed by tariffs and high prices for groceries, utilities, and health care.

The system is broken.

I am so old that I remember when we had progressive tax rates, so richer people paid more than less wealthy people, and we called it “progressive taxation“ but NOBODY had a problem with rich people paying higher tax rates. It was COMMON SENSE.

Our tax code is rigged. It’s not fair that a billionaire can pay a lower tax rate than a public school teacher.

Trump’s Big Ugly Law killed ACA premium tax credits. Starting next year, premiums will increase by an average 75% – or more.

We’re talking hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars more per month.

People can’t afford Trump's America.
