this has always been the end goal of the Starmer project, but I felt somewhat insane for years for believing so bc no one else in my circle could see it!
Best understood, Labour's attack on juries, as a further lurch towards authoritarianism. Who, now, will stand in the way of a State that wants to imprison its opponents?

i think we can justifiably slice this thinner. trans issues are of very low salience to the voters democrats need to win on their right flank, and of very high salience to the voters democrats need to win on their left flank
