watched Pan’s Labyrinth with the kid who’s been doing a lot of lit crit re Frankenstein bc i think PL is such a nuanced film in its ways of addressing some of the same issues (creation, destruction, resurrection, monstrosity, rebellion). next up ofc is Young Frankenstein

kid read Frankenstein for school so we got to see GdT’s Frankenstein and it is SUCH a joy to have the chance to see a movie with my child’s critical perception—they compared the narrative beats, considered the changes in plot and character vs the media, loved the look, and had a wonderful time
