Truly amazing that any time the democrats have to bite the bullet and do something that ruins countless lives, there's always *just* enough votes to get it done, but if there is a vote on something that would actually improve people's lives, they are always one vote short. Crazy how that happens.

Two-thirds of Democrats say their own party makes them feel frustrated. By far the most commonly cited reason is that the party is not pushing back hard enough against Trump. www.pewresearch.org/politics/202...

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week
Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

Those senators aren't stupid. They don't actually believe they're acting in the best interests of their constituents. They know they're not--they are *deliberately* ignoring us and the rest of their colleagues, because they are benefiting personally from their votes somehow. They are disgusting.

look I know being an engaged citizen IS the work of democracy but it is also the work of elected officials not to create situations where everyone has to be mobilized all the time to prevent them from allowing some kind of Dickensian horror on a Sunday night while you're in between loads of laundry

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.
We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.
We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

I'm just in disbelief.
After their resounding victory in Tuesday’s elections, the Democrats had no choice but to surrender.

This is the type of flragrantly traitorous nonsense that leftists will point to when they say both sides are bad. I'm glad Jeffries is actually on the right side of this.
I look forward to Schumer's death.

Jeffries vs Chuck Schumer CR infighting 👀
If even Jeffries is demanding that we hold the line for ACA & more, it shows how out of touch Schumer (primary 2028) & other Sen Dems are on this.
If establishment Senators fold, they are betraying the American people

The fact that democrats may cave tonight is another example of how they’re the worst at politicking.
3/5ths of the country are on their side… Trump is throwing Great Gatsby parties and fighting with courts to withhold SNAP funding, and democrats are like “i don’t know what to do with this.”

What are they all getting out of this? Money?
I just left Chuck Schumer a message not to cave on the #ShutDown. Who Else? Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Jon Ossoff (D-GA), Gary Peters (D-MI), Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Peter Welch (D-VT), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), and Elissa Slotkin (D-MI). We will remember when elections come round again.

In the week since Mayor Wilson began enforcing the public camping ban, we are seeing MORE tents in East Portland. Those folks are just being swept into my district.
I told the mayor that this is what would happen and asked him to bring extra resources to East PDX to meet the displaced. He did not.

I don't understand why haircuts restore gay powers. Does this mean gays can't gro their hair out? Are you less gay if you have long hair? 🤔🤔🤔

I have never seen someone defend any form of hate as vehemently as fat-phobia. For some reason people feel entitled to be hateful to others because of their physical size in a way they don't for any other form of bigotry. Except for maybe anti-homelessness.
Always a drag to see someone on here with a generally positive vibe just casually drop a bullshit fat-phobic comment for no reason.
People are disappointing.
