I'm from the 80s and installed an AI module that basically lets me sit back on my 180 mile highway drives. I would never go back to full manual.

That said, try a Hyundai Venue.

Try Comma AI in your car & listen to an audiobook, or move closer, or get a remote job.

There's options that don't involve me having to smell your commitment to the environment during our 8-12 hour shift.

(a previous job had no showers and 5 people who biked to work every day, the smell was bad.)

EVs catch fire *less often* than ICE vehicles, Teslas catch fire at a higher rate than other EVs and that is NOT due to sales volume as they're +/- 40% of the market now. Tesla has a fire issue and a door handle issue, not EVs as a whole.

The documentary "Who Killed The Electric Car" literally opens with a funeral procession of EV1 all-electric cars months before GM recalled them and crushed them in the Arizona desert.

So it might be weird but it's a weirdness felt by many.

Oh yeah you will make very good use of the interior screen on a flight. Just get a good spine protective case! :)
December 23, 2025 at 11:33 AM
I liked the screen / aspect ratio. But the button placement (an issue in my standard pixel, too) was too problematic for my big hands to open and close it comfortably. I liked the Galaxy Fold3 more in that regard.
December 23, 2025 at 11:22 AM
All good! I got excited for a second. I have a standard pixel now (for grapheneos support) but I didn't like the Fold. Maybe one day they'll release a flip!
December 23, 2025 at 11:16 AM
Wait there's a pixel flip?? Not just the Fold? Hmmm

Samsung or Motorola? Or OnePlus?

The issue of media availability in the streaming age has been around for decades but only now is ANYONE aware of it. GOOD. Change may come now.

Watch it before it's disappears = something queer media connoisseurs have been screaming since streaming began. See: Amazon & Big Gay Sketch Show.

EREVs are not in fashion and even a pure series setup (like BMW i3 *NOT* either gen Volt) still is cantankerous and needs extra maintenance.

Hard no. Will never own anything w/ tailpipe again.

I'll never buy American now. They were my last hope, Korean only for now one I guess.
December 23, 2025 at 10:04 AM
Absolutely and it's not unusual!

Anything you keep a long time, and name, becomes part of the family.

I've seen grown old men weep over parting with 20+ year old cars they've kept virtually the whole time (a Volvo 240 I once bought comes to mind, sent 3 kids to the same college).

Totally normal.

That is how much of the industry is today (not that it's right) and then Crucial abandoned the consumer market entirely. Who can even afford RAM to upgrade their systems today?
December 23, 2025 at 9:52 AM
I'm 1 data point, but the 2023 razr plus held up fine to my constant dropping of it. The hinge bar was nicked to hell. It was the ornate metal on my bag that managed to crack the interior screen after a hard stop in car w/ it left open on the seat. Screen worked for 3 more flips! Impressed me. YMMV?

I stopped trusting apple in 2002 when they lobotomized the available RAM in my laptop with a firmware update because it was third party. They have a well documented history of pulling crap like this and it will never change.
December 23, 2025 at 1:31 AM
You can also forcibly delete the apps using ADB with USB Debugging enabled.

I use GrapheneOS in my Pixel. You should consider it.
December 23, 2025 at 1:26 AM
So stop being an apple family. Change does not come without pain or sacrifice.
December 23, 2025 at 1:23 AM
Did it start and drive? This smells like a low/dead 12-volt.
December 23, 2025 at 1:19 AM
It would be next level if you rented an EV, got a cheap Tesla charge adapter on amazon, and hogged his home charger the whole time.
December 22, 2025 at 10:26 PM
Bless you for stopping to call.
December 22, 2025 at 5:02 PM
Not like this matters, in the US you have one V2H solution from ford and nobody else. We are a few years from V2H let alone virtual v2G power plants using V2H's cars being anywhere near a normal thing. We can't even divert solar to cars right now with consumer V2X products.
December 22, 2025 at 4:16 PM
Except that all V2H are limited to 80A, v2G (industrial, think buses) goes higher. Your car will only ever power the house, tho even if it maxed it out it's no where near the same as a highway run. You're not gonna exceed the 250kW draw the motor can put over V2X in light duty cars.
December 22, 2025 at 4:14 PM
It's really the same core concept, the difference being on board v offboard inverters doing the work.
