"The Cat in the Stacks" murder mystery series by Miranda James discusses this to an extent in "Murder Past Due," where 5.25" floppies play a pivotal role in solving the crime (and only the college's archivist had the tools to read the disks).

Andy Warhol computer artwork rescued from Amiga floppy disks
Previously unknown Andy Warhol artwork, made on a 1985 Commodore Amiga computer, was recently extracted from obsolete floppy disks.

This video does not do this close call justice and without sound you do not hear the screech of the tires as the big rig barely avoids the oncoming SUV.
Good news! I haven't had the replacement die or spew acid (yet)!
It has taken a lot of cursing, tears, and two different donor office chairs... But Gopher's driver seat is now my new office chair.

CYBERBULLIED: To some it’s a metallic status symbol. To others fascism on wheels. Either way, heads turn. "I was married but not anymore. Women don’t like the vehicle." Do you Grok in it? "Her name's Aura, I use her as a therapist" @zoeschiffer.bsky.social @wired.com

Spit On, Sworn At, and Undeterred: What It’s Like to Own a Cybertruck
“We were the targets.” WIRED spoke to seven Tesla Cybertruck owners about their most controversial purchase and why they’re proud to drive it.

I'm going to counter with it's a horrible design because now you don't know whether it's going to be minutes or hours to get a charge. Whereas before round plug is slow and triangular plug is fast...
Same and its early adoption hurt Hyundai sales.
CCS was designed around the existing compact J1772 AC plug reusing the comms pins and moving the currant carrying pins below the communication ones. It had nothing to do with three phase power.
I'm good with a fob + start button. Fob lives in my bag, so little chance of losing or (more commonly) washing it.

Having to use the switchblade on the Smart 453 we tested yesterday felt weirdly alien. Thinking on it, I haven't used a key to start a car in about 15 years (besides my old Smart 451).
I wanted to love it so bad but Daimler ruined the Smart Fortwo with the 453. Ruined it. My mind cannot be changed.
10% isn't great but what's the baseline for humans to compare it to?
VW Diesels have always carried a premium because the actual user base is more loyal than Corvette owners. The dieselgate cars are seeing their moment because the 1/2 and 3/4 million miles classic TDIs (8 valves) are finally starting to physically wear out and the owners are forced to upgrade.
I started watching and got sidetracked, thanks for the reminder I should get back to this!

🌈 Today is #NationalComingOutDay!

Whether you’re out, not out, questioning, or can’t share your truth safely, you’re valid, seen, loved and part of community regardless of how visible you are.

Coming out is personal. Be proud of who you are, in whatever way feels right for you. ❤️
If you can't cook on copper or cast iron what business do you have in the kitchen as a professional?
They failed to do that when I went in for a Cruze Diesel and I wrote off American brands after that, so... No. They wont.
I wonder if "Limited time only" is to spark FOMO to bolster sales? What happens if it has demand exceeding production? Will it have MSRP price control to prevent insane markups? I have many more questions like this.
As a Linux user since 2009 and Linux System admin since 2012, my personal recommendation for the Linux curious is Ubuntu.

It has a large enough adoption base that Google can answer most any questions + hardware/codec support is very strong. Install is as complicated as the Windows installer.
I just had to pay DHL and import tariff on Flow (movie) merch from Latvia. First time I've had to do it, and I'm not pleased.
I want to say it was season 4 that I watched when it was new on the air, and I was smitten with it. I've been buying the box sets up as I find them at goodwills over the past year, and I've got a friend who's from Baltimore who wanted to watch the series with me.
I never finished the wire and I never saw it from the beginning. I have the entire DVD series on my Plex server and I do believe that's going to be my new night time binge. Thank you for this.
