I have launched a little print shop with a selection of photos, a mix of film and digital, which I aim to rotate regularly. I’m bad at self-promotion but please take a look:

my generation was sold student loans at 17 on the basis that we’d be earning more money after uni so paying the loans back wouldn’t be a burden. this makes us actively worse off for having believed that

O is for Owl Service from my linocut #folkhorroralphabet inspired by the 1967 novel by Alan Garner which he adapted from Welsh folklore. There’s a television series from 1969 which holds up surprisingly well.

MERLIN: yes it was quite the jape
ARTHUR: and you turned me into a fish
MERLIN: hilarious
ARTHUR: merlin I need you to be more serious
MERLIN: your best friend is fucking your wife
ARTHUR: less serious than that

finding new and extraordinarily boring ways to cause myself back pain at work (an hour standing at the counter tying 200 individual shoelaces into bundled pairs)

decided to have a go at linocut for the first time, with an idea very loosely based on a photo I took last week. not perfect, but we’re learning!

The BBC, quite consciously, sets out to demean and belittle trans people. This is both morally contemptible and in breach of its Charter obligations. We've made it super easy for you to write to the BBC and tell it to stop.

The BBC must stop attacking trans people | Good Law Project
The right wing accusations of ‘pro-trans’ bias are back to front. It’s time for the BBC to live up to its duty to be impartial on trans issues.

Shovelers scoop up today’s #AutumnArrivalSpotlight! 🦆

With their oversized, spatula-shaped bills, these quirky ducks join UK wetlands in autumn, swelling in numbers with arrivals from the continent.

Parents, please check your kids’ candy this Halloween. I’ve just found an ancient metal whistle with the inscription “QUIS EST ISTE QUI VENIT" inside a Snickers bar. I blew it and heard a note of infinite distance, and now I’m haunted by a figure in pale, fluttering draperies. Be safe.

Today’s #AutumnArrivalSpotlight is the Jack Snipe…master of the stealth and wobble! 👀

These charming little waders sneak into wet meadows and bogs from northern Europe, bobbing up and down as they feed along the water’s edge.

How's that for a Friday smile?

Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵
