AKA Fluttertwi. I love cooking, Baseball (especially the Giants), Soccer (especially Feyenoord and the Thorns), video games, D&D, and making music. I hate white supremacy. He/him. Hablo Español, en ik spreek Nederlands (at a Duolingo competency level)
In East Anchorage there’s a bank of large spruce trees in between a park that usually has a couple food trucks and a parking lot that has a strip mall and a few restaurants (Muldoon and DeBarr), and I keep seeing about a dozen bald eagles there.

Moves like Bader and Arraez are exactly why I was trepidatious about Posey as a POBO. Players like those sorts of players because they have impressive skills. That doesn’t mean they actually improve a team that much.

Sam Coffey leaving the Thorns is enough for me to think about not watching them anymore. I won’t actually stop. But I’m upset.

This doesn’t really fit the prompt but I like telling the story so I’m gonna do it anyway

I was a freshman in geometry with Kevin Love when he was a senior (I think). I was a particularly weird kid, and got made fun of a lot. He was very nice to me when it would’ve been easier not to.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

My Christmas celebrations really happen on Christmas Eve, when I sing myself half to death and then get home at 1 AM. I’m not really a tenor but I always sing the tenor parts on Christmas carols for fun. This year I sang tenor with the choir, too. I basically have a hangover 😂

This semester did a lot of very real damage to me. It’s over now. But I don’t think I’m done with it yet, unfortunately.

I actually liked Joe Buck as a national announcer, but him winning a Frick award is WILD.

It’s frustrating to me seeing how many people view higher education as a competition between the students. That’s a toxic mindset. You learn WAY better if you view it like a team sport.

Ok, folks, it's time for our most popular annual quiz, "Is it Seasonal Affective Disorder or is it the Ongoing Catastrophe of Reality As We Know It?"

As a student who came back 10 years later, my experience is different but similar. I see a number of younger students who have these issues but less extreme than they’re presented here. There is one thing that I haven’t seen talked about before that is huge, though.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

I have to give it to American football that its “silly name for rivalries” game is unmatched. I went to look at what games were active to try to guess which one was “the Egg Bowl” and I would have been better off throwing a dart at a dartboard.
I’d say I hope the Egg Bowl never changes but nothing about it indicates it ever would

It’s fun for me how I finished school the first time just as the labor market went into “a little bit of quiet time”, and then I went back, and now am finishing the second time just as the labor market is going into “a little bit of quiet time”

I want to reiterate that gambling addiction is incredibly destructive and if you're trying to apply logic to it you likely won't find it. Addictions are irrational. Saying “I don't get why someone would do this” is applying non-addict thinking and it won't help you understand.

I watched Moneyball, and it was worth my time to see what people were (and still are) talking about, but my sincere opinion is that it’s not a very good movie.

Tom Murphy got badly injured (and possibly medical malpracticed) and it’s weird to see a giants beat writer call his signing an unforced error

This was an absolute classic World Series even if the Jays had closed it down quietly in the ninth. Now we’re talking top 3 all time.
