Canada’s Healthcare was privatized during COVID.
Pay=care
No pay=waitlists

Our prov govt Cons/Libs/NDP knew private cost 2x public for less service/worse outcomes.

Did it anyway.

MLAs & MPs should be forced to divest stocks in Manulife, Telus, etc.

Immoral getting richer off suffering & deaths.
Next year, Americans will see the biggest jump in health insurance costs in 15 years.

Meanwhile, the seven largest health insurance companies made a combined $71B in profits in 2024.

It’s far past time for Medicare for All. Here’s what you need to know.

Can't believe the NDP are so bad at this that they colluded with Poilievre to pass this atrocious budget and they did it in a way that only the Cons look like they voted against it while the NDP takes all the flak for propping up Carney's austerity and gutting the public sector

Do better CBC. You've got a crew at the ostrich farm covering the imminent cull due to avian flu, but no one covering the several poultry farms in the lower mainland where thousands of chickens are being culled to prevent the spread of this disease. Stop feeding the ostrich frenzy.

This budget does not resemble anything the Liberals ran on in the election and it is well past time Canadian media start pointing that out. It was the biggest bait & switch in Canadian electoral history #cdnpoli

Trying not to get sucked in by all these bad post-election takes.

My most uncompromising take may be that I don't care how many nice things you do, if you excuse throwing out the belongings of people who live in tents.

Montreal can do so much better than Projet.

If the Carney government deploys generative AI -- a product that by design cannot be trusted to provide reliable information -- to answer Canadians' tax question, it should be required to forgive the taxes of anyone who follows any incorrect answers.

Or if you're Mark Carney, you'd invite him to speak to your caucus.
it's utterly wild how the Heritage Foundation president talks about other people

if you found a guy talking like this outside, you'd probably call the cops

Great thread here on navigating COVID as a parent as well as the media’s complicity in mass infection.

The CBC has been hugely disappointing throughout the pandemic. (Looking at you, Ian Hanomansing and buddy Bogoch).

“If Montreal’s younger demographic wants to be counted in this election and have their priorities and concerns represented at city hall, they better take the time to cast a ballot. Because right now — and I mean this with zero ageism — the over-65 crowd seems to be voting strong.”

Un excellent texte de notre candidate au conseil de ville sur le Plateau Mont-Royal, Shirley Barnea.

Elle a raison, on a besoin de l’énergie et de la détermination des jeunes dans nos instances gouvernementales ! 🔥
