I often tell people for the low low price of ~$10 million I'll simply fuck off from society but i should increase that to $14mm
we have to figure out the exact amount of wealth that drives everyone who attains it permanently insane and stupid. it's way less than a billion but there are some low end millionaires that seem reasonably intelligent. i think 14 million sounds about right

This is like the lowest-stakes version of politics it is possible to create and it's impossible for the American intelligentsia to comprehend.
The right people are Big Mad about Kennedy Center cancellations which means they're working. And as @cooperlund.online points out, there's a very vibrant arts scene well outside of the Kennedy Center in DC. It's just one venue that caters to a rather specific audience.
