It’s #Menopause Awareness Month & I’m so excited to share the news about our physical activity program for women ages 40-65! ⬇️ Each participant is paired w/another woman in the program for support, accountability beyond coaching sessions. Feasible, acceptable, & promising! #WomensHealth #AcademicSky
🚨We're PUMPED to share our new findings from a pilot test of a partner-based physical activity intervention for women ages 40-65! 👟Program is feasible and acceptable to women in this age range, next = refinements for scaling & efficacy testing. @sbm.org #WomensHealth

After years of considering, I took the plunge to establish an advisory board for my women’s health research program (Project WHADE, for Women’s Health and Daily Experiences). We prepped for two months and held our first meeting tonight - loved every second of it. Lots more on this soon! #AcademicSky

Thank you for sharing this!

If you haven’t had a chance to read this excerpt, please take a few minutes - particularly if you train others in psych, counseling, social work. It says a lot about the harm of “good” intentions in educational settings. We need to do better. #AcademicSky #PsychSky
This excerpt from Jonathan Lassiter’s book makes me want to read his book. Powerful and mind-wrenching. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/doctor-minority-white-people-crazy_n_6909099de4b0c4a0f50a51fb
I could not be more thrilled to share a new book by my dear friend & colleague, Jonathan Lassiter - out today! It’s an incisive first-person account of training as a psychologist, from the perspective of a Black, same-gender-loving man. Every psychologist needs to read this. #AcademicSky #PsychSky

Happy Tuesday! Current mood - thanks to a great friend for the gift 📚 Week actually starting off very well, with 2 sunny, chilly morning runs 🏃🏻‍♀️ that prepped me for productive days. (It even snowed a little on yesterday’s run 😊❄️) Polishing a grant proposal this morning, meetings later. #AcademicSky

Happy Friday! Wild times with many, many deadlines (recent and upcoming), & such a pleasure to be able to share findings with the world. Particularly for projects led by students, like this new one on the problem of nomophobia (NO MObile PHOne PhoBIA) among college students ⬇️ #mHealth #CollegeHealth
Always a great day when we can share new research findings! Is "nomophobia" associated with college students' physical health once general anxiety is accounted for? And what is the role of social comparison orientation? #DigitalHealth🤓

Happy Tuesday! It’s NIH grant submission day here, despite a govt shutdown (doesn’t change deadlines - no rest for the very weary). Final checks in progress, stepped away for a blood check (no rest for those on blood thinners). Looking forward to a run🏃🏻‍♀️, nap 😴, and haircut 💇‍♀️ later. #AcademicSky

Happy Monday! Today = final prep for an NIH submission (yes, during a govt shutdown) & trying to stay on top of all else in progress. It’s a challenge that requires more time for rest than I’m giving it, & I intend to crash later this week. Gotta keep fighting for work we believe in. #AcademicSky 🤓
