Feasible, acceptable, & promising! #WomensHealth #AcademicSky
🚨We're PUMPED to share our new findings from a pilot test of a partner-based physical activity intervention for women ages 40-65! 👟Program is feasible and acceptable to women in this age range, next = refinements for scaling & efficacy testing. @sbm.org #WomensHealth

I could not be more thrilled to share a new book by my dear friend & colleague, Jonathan Lassiter - out today! It’s an incisive first-person account of training as a psychologist, from the perspective of a Black, same-gender-loving man. Every psychologist needs to read this. #AcademicSky #PsychSky
How I Know White People are Crazy and Other Stories
This psychologist is frustrated.  In the final stretch of his doctoral internship, Dr. Jonathan Mathias Lassiter had just one more milestone to complete—t...

Happy Monday! Already a great fall day: started w/5K 🏃🏻‍♀️, then lots of pumpkin coffee (in my pumpkin mug 🎃) & progress on a new manuscript. Feels good to get back to basics. Meetings now, then more #acwri & Clinical Ph.D. program event tonight. There’s still time to sign up to join! Next one 11/3.

October is #Menopause Awareness Month! Did you know there are many ways to access menopause information & support through apps? Many of these feature videos & messaging between users. (Always check with the information with reliable sources & consult your medical provider.) #WomensHealth #mHealth
Happy Tuesday! It’s NIH grant submission day here, despite a govt shutdown (doesn’t change deadlines - no rest for the very weary). Final checks in progress, stepped away for a blood check (no rest for those on blood thinners). Looking forward to a run🏃🏻‍♀️, nap 😴, and haircut 💇‍♀️ later. #AcademicSky

Happy Monday! Today = final prep for an NIH submission (yes, during a govt shutdown) & trying to stay on top of all else in progress. It’s a challenge that requires more time for rest than I’m giving it, & I intend to crash later this week. Gotta keep fighting for work we believe in. #AcademicSky 🤓

Democratic women are disadvantaged in competitive district primaries, where party elites prioritize electability & view men as safer. Republican women are disadvantaged in safe district primaries, where elites & voters assume they are less conservative.

there was never going to be a world in which the right didn’t claim the left was celebrating the death of charlie kirk, no matter how respectable anyone tried to be.
This was supposed to be an in-person conference & I was so excited to contribute as an invited discussant. One of many recent casualties = this moved to webinar. I’m definitely grateful that it’s happening at all, as many conferences were canceled completely. And I now get to wear slippers 😂
I would like (re)establish a daily post here & it keeps eluding me. I jump right into each day & get swept away. Which is (mostly) quite lovely, as I get to do work that I enjoy. But I’m very much out of the loop! Today I’ve been listening to an NIH live cast on health behavior theory. #AcademicSky

NIH employees I heard from say things are very grim over there, but they welcome the push for a "fighting CR" to rein Trump in — or a government shutdown if not.

Happy Tuesday! And happy start to the new academic year for those who celebrate (or cry) - hope it’s off to a great start.

I celebrated 2 years since heart surgery last week, with my longest run since then & day trips to the beach. Gonna be a wild month, but I’m grateful 🤓 #AcademicSky
