Dubious on the editing of the new concert film for The Warning. Fans know their tracks inside out, where the big moments are in each. Somehow the editor missed at a glaring rate. It’s weird. But the audio is peak. Studio albums have never done them justice so it’s nice to finally have a live album.

There’s a specific mechanism in authoritarian movements that we’re seeing play out in real-time across American media and tech. It’s a simple rule: "If we cannot co-opt it, we must destroy it."

It is the logic of "scorched earth." It's the logic of the Nero Decree and it's happening right now. 🧵

Millions of young people across the globe protested against a genocide — an unprecedented mass movement that was organized on social media.

In that time, the US government basically nationalized TikTok and the Australian government has banned teenagers from social media altogether.

I was "pulled over" by two young men impersonating police officers last night. This happened while driving on Ford parkway in St. Paul, around 10:40 Thursday night

In the age of ICE this can not be tolerated. They may have taken more liberties with someone from a vulnerable community

So this person got harassed by a straight up police impersonator; someone else who dealt with an ICE kidnapper climbing into their car after someone by driving everyone to a police station is facing federal charges.

A $420 million fraud scheme in Minnesota, 180% greater than the entirety of FOF dominating national news. Yet while certain sorts redact operator Aimee Bock from the FOF story to target Somalis, Matthew Onofrio provides no such redirection. Not even local news cares for it all that much.

The Atlantic taking a break from “eradicating an entire population our EIC regards as inconvenient subhumans is good actually and not genocide” content to publish some “the ‘left’ should be tolerant and supportive of wildly racist shitbags and defend them” content.
“Those of us on the left should be fighting to improve protections for workers of all races, and thereby for the betterment of people’s material conditions regardless of their views,” Arash Azizi argues:
Why the Cinnabon Story Doesn’t Make Me Happy
The left should be promoting working-class solidarity, not delighting in seeing workers summarily dismissed.

Super cool how industry unions went on a large strike partially to combat this shit only for studios and (sometimes vertically integrated) media outlets to spend the past couple years working to fuck them anyway.
