this crystallizes why, despite truly heroic solidarity and activism, i can’t quite get in the “we’re going to win” mindset right now. the harm is so active and there’s so much violence we don’t even know about. people are being turned into ghosts.

I was curious what Blade Runner looks like in black and white.

Pretty good actually. Without a full colour palette, the way Sean Young is backlit comes out very vividly. Obviously reinforces the film noir mood.

Canada's Auto Sector doesn't produce a single vehicle that is "threatened" by a competitive Chinese vehicle. That's a condemnation of Canada's Auto Sector.

Also, it's telling that all the Teslas purchased and imported over the last decade were never seen as a threat to Canada's Auto Sector.

At the local coffee shop this morning, I noticed tons of guidance on the wall on countering ICE. It made me think that places with only corporate coffee shops lose that kind of community support, and that absence is its own form of suppression.

Been thinking about Andor this week. Maarva in particular.
They really did some of their best writing for Maarva.
a woman says it 's when it stops that 's when you 'll really want to start
Alt: A scene from Andor. Maarva sits under house arrest, looking out a foggy window and says “It’s when it stops, that’s when you'll really want to start to fret.”
