At least 11 people were killed on Sunday and more were injured after two gunmen opened fire at a crowd celebrating the first day of the Hanukkah holiday on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. One of the shooters was also killed, the police said. Here is what we know about the attack.

Two gunman opened fire at dozens of people who were at a Jewish holiday event. At least 11 people were killed in the attack, and so was one of the shooters, the police said.

Indiana’s Senate has voted AGAINST the GOP gerrymander that’d have locked in a 9-0 map.
This keeps the 7-2 map in place, saving two Democratic seats heading into 2026.
The vote failed big, 19/31.
The MAJORITY of the GOP senators opposed it!

I really had hope in Congress's capacity to save the ACA subsidies. I will leave room for hope that they will correct the mistake as soon as possible. Until then, I pray for the Americans who will face the deadly consequences of Congress's inaction.

Instead of trash talking the people who write op-eds like this, I wish folks would understand that this is an effort to walk back former bad opinions, which is good! It is also definitionally a persuasive essay -- certain concessions are made for the sake of persuasion! That's high school English.

I used to eye-roll at athletes who thanked God after games because I don't believe God chose the outcome, but now I recognize how gifts need to be acknowledged as gifts!

I'm always amazed at how we all carry search engines in our pockets and yet I still hear people bemoaning in public about things they think don't exist that totally do exist. If you're aware of an issue worth organizing over, you are most certainly not the first.
