Who wouldn't you want saving you? Who would embarrass you if you had to tell your friends that they picked you up on the side of the road, battered and bruised, and took you to safety? Who would you feel awkward thanking for saving your life?

That's your neighbor. Love them.

This is the perfect example of "we're playing checkers; they're playing football." All of this is so Trump can have his SCOTUS friends overturn whatever parts of the constitution stand in his way.
NEW: President Donald Trump says he is granting a pardon to Tina Peters, who was convicted on state charges related to tampering with Colorado's election systems. Legal experts say presidential pardons do not apply to state charges.

Indiana’s Senate has voted AGAINST the GOP gerrymander that’d have locked in a 9-0 map.

This keeps the 7-2 map in place, saving two Democratic seats heading into 2026.

The vote failed big, 19/31.

The MAJORITY of the GOP senators opposed it!

I really had hope in Congress's capacity to save the ACA subsidies. I will leave room for hope that they will correct the mistake as soon as possible. Until then, I pray for the Americans who will face the deadly consequences of Congress's inaction.

Via me and @alejacorazonhm.bsky.social: CBP posted a pic of two detained Iranians, saying, “No fun in the sun when you are unlawfully present.”

According to their Episcopal priest, they’re Christian converts seeking asylum, and deporting them may be a death sentence religionnews.com/2025/12/09/b...

Welp, I'm logged into a proxy because bsky has stopped allowing people with Mississippi IP addresses from using its service. Tough. I guess this marks the end of my regular time here. Probably for the best, even if that wasn't the intended purpose.

Instead of trash talking the people who write op-eds like this, I wish folks would understand that this is an effort to walk back former bad opinions, which is good! It is also definitionally a persuasive essay -- certain concessions are made for the sake of persuasion! That's high school English.

I'm always amazed at how we all carry search engines in our pockets and yet I still hear people bemoaning in public about things they think don't exist that totally do exist. If you're aware of an issue worth organizing over, you are most certainly not the first.
