I’ve noticed how I think about love has less to do with fireworks and more to do with someone steadying the console while I recalibrate. Somewhere along the way, Star Trek slipped in this idea that affection can look like trusting someone else to take the bridge for a minute.

there's a certain flavor of skepticism about being on the autism spectrum that I think is kind of diagnostic of being on the autism spectrum
if you can list five or six autism symptoms that show up in yourself and follow that up with "but maybe it's a mysterious other thing," well...

got in the habit of having "night mode" on my laptop all the time to reduce blue light, and while I think it has improved my sleep, it hasn't really improved eye strain
weirdly if I turn night mode off my eye strain immediately improves. maybe my eyes just get tired of a specific color scheme...?

saw a youtube essay a few weeks back that pointed out that no matter how dire the depiction of toxic masculinity in a movie, no matter how you try to sell "this protagonist is a shitbag," reactionaries will idolize him. really thorough exploration. can't remember who it was.
