But Charlie Brown got hoes!

Ok. So what exactly was everyone expecting the Ds to get out of this shutdown? A) the Rs were never going to extend ACA subsidies, B) they were never going to abolish the filibuster, and C) and no matter what was negotiated Trump was never going to follow it, and D) Trump was never ever going to

And now this all goes back to the House where the Epstein files are waiting to blow up in Rs face.

I think they could have gotten more, but how much is really up in the air. There was no way this was going to last to thanksgiving, at most the Ds were going to hold out the rest of this week or till the middle of next week, and then it was done.

That said, I watched people get in @mikeblack114.bsky.social's and @snarkranger.bsky.social's mentions last night and call them enemies of america or w/e for saying "I'd like a paycheck please, we can't really take much more of this." and holy shit, check your aggro.

Not that I have seen, but I am behind as well. But it’s important to note the Senate vote isn’t final until Friday? when they have to vote again because Senate procedure.
So he has a week to come up with what he wants to do. Sending thoughts and prayers to him.

It would be funny. We will see. The first day of battle is over, the second is just about to begin and boy howdy it’s shaping up to be a big one.
November 10, 2025 at 2:48 PM
In the end that is the problem, and the other problem is the Rs would gladly have let half the country starve to death, very literally.
November 10, 2025 at 2:47 PM
Yes. Loath her but she has an ax to grind, so let’s let her grind it.
November 10, 2025 at 2:45 PM
Yes. I don’t see a way a reconciled CR passes the House without the Epstein files coming up and there are just enough Rs in the House to force the issue.
November 10, 2025 at 1:56 PM
Honestly, IDK if the Rs were going to kill the filibuster, I think it’s unlikely, but at some point the shutdown had to end, the Rs really don’t care if they kill half the country. And frankly at some point this would rebound onto the Ds. And now we are going to have a House fight.

or the budget process stalls because Johnson refuses to do anything about the Epstein files. Yah, it not great the Senate Ds gave up, but frankly it was going to happen.
November 10, 2025 at 12:58 PM
Now the Senate passed the bill it has to be reconciled with the House, which means the House has to reconvene. Which means a whole fight over the Epstein files. Something Johnson likely knows. There really is a good chance the government says closed because Johnson refuses to reconvene the House,

And my opinion and $5 will buy you a cup of coffee. There is no magic button the Ds could press that would get you everything you think the Ds could get, the Rs were never going to budge they were more then happy to let poor people starve to death because they are social Darwinists.

to last to Thanksgiving. It’s simply couldn’t and wouldn’t. Look, I personally would have held out until the SNAP drama played out in Court, I think winning there and Trump just refusing to pay out the benefits and running to SCOTUS would have had better optics, but that is just my opinion.
November 10, 2025 at 12:58 PM
negotiate. So what exactly is your theory of victory in these conditions? Keep the government shutdown indefinitely? What is the game plan here? At some point the Ds were going to have to fold, and that time was rapidly approaching, sorry to tell you all that, but this shutdown was not going
