This was the first time I finally saw one up close. Very lucky to have captured it on my phone camera. Here’s another video as it moved to a pine tree for better camouflage and protection from the mobbing.

This beautiful great horned owl is being mobbed by a murder of crows (some magpies and a northern flicker, as well) in our locust tree. A cacophony of screeching and swooping while the owl casually ignores their inanities. Oh wise one, take me with you, I whisper, as he flies away on silent wings.
