In Puritan England the madness of King George is blamed on witchcraft. Witch Finders scout the south of England for these evil-doers, and one arrives in Meryton just as Mr Bingley takes Netherfield Park. What happens to his romance with Miss Bennet when she is accused of witchcraft? a.co/d/9a2PGGc

Work in progress. It's at that stage where there's nothing that can be done to rescue it. In about ten more hours it'll be looking better. Btw, that's not a mustache it's the outline of a hand.

Good morning. Today is going to be amazing. Except for the bit where I have to give up on the jigsaw. I'm not looking forward to that 😞

I do my laundry on Mondays, and I put in my woven fabric.

I knew laundering it was supposed to make it "better" and it's absolutely true. My god, it looks brilliant. Desperately in need of ironing so no photos, but it's actually fabric. It's amazing.

Someone called her "scrungly" and that hurt my feelings. She's my baby.

When I was single and unpopular my Christmas card list topped out at 40. Then I married Himself and the man is universally adored, so the list is now 100.

I'd have been long finished with this damn job if I was still single.

I'm free!!!

Here's the other thing I've failed to accomplish on my ten day holiday - but to be fair to me the box says it's impossible.

I have weaven! Woved? Who cares, I'm near the end!

It's supposed to snow tomorrow. Do I need to leave the house? I hope not.

I painted the stairs today. It took exactly the amount of time I expected and I was then supposed to address envelopes. I stopped at 6.

But I'm very relaxed about being so far behind on my tasks.

My right hand is being very mean to me. I think perhaps I grabbed the loom too hard (the rear roller is increasingly stiff and I'm really struggling to unwind my warp).

So apparently I'm going to nap this evening. Monty isn't terribly interested in cuddling me, and I'm beginning to think I should maybe head upstairs to nap in comfort.

Today I made myself half a pot of coffee, did lots of weaving, wrote some of my chapter, worked on the jigsaw, went for a coffee with a friend, ate an enormous slab of cheesecake and am now struggling to sleep.

Perhaps I could have drunk a little less coffee.

I was right. It's crazy fucking cold. My upper body made it out from under the bedding and instantly froze solid. I'm typing this with my knee.

I'm halfway through my holiday and I haven't even started half the things I wanted to do. It feels like there's only a day or two left to get things sorted.

Priority is to write my chapter and the newsletter. Thankfully the chapter is more than half done.

The wind is creaking like an elderly lady while also whirling like an elderly lady's knitting needles. I've a feeling it'll be a cold night.

Fucks sake. I somehow crossed two threads. I can still weave, but I have to keep dodging one wonky warp thread. Gah!
November 26, 2025 at 11:27 PM
I've never woven before. Not like this. I'm very pleased, but the reason you can see a weft pattern forming is because I already got bored of the back and forth.
November 26, 2025 at 10:36 PM
I'm eating cake and drinking beer while I try to weave. Can't truly believe my weaving is going to improve when I'm on an alcohol tainted sugar high but I have to try it once, right?

Trans Secret Santa UK sounds like a lovely idea, but collecting a list of vulnerable trans minors online without their knowledge sounds like a dangerous idea, even if the intentions are good.

Yesterday was Friendsgiving and I went to a party. Thankfully it was a party for old nerds, so I rejoiced at participating in every moment. That means I'm 100% antisocial today.

Turns out going downstairs to make coffee feels like a social effort.

I need someone to bring me coffee.

There's a very real possibility I'm doing a terrible job, but it's my first time so I'm determined to be kind to myself. Right now that looks like stopping and going elsewhere.
