Not sure if Man United owner Jim Ratcliffe will see this being as he literally migrated to Monaco to avoid paying tax in the UK, but we wanted to put this up outside the stadium anyway….

In 2020, Jim Ratcliffe moved his fortune to Monaco, saving himself an estimated £4 billion in tax.

In the same year, immigrants in the UK contributed around £20 billion in tax.

That says it all.

Today I've written about New Labour for @lsepoliticsblog.bsky.social... Why was Blair's party so popular for so long? Take a read, it's free:

Why was New Labour so popular? | LSE British Politics
The Labour Party was once very popular. New Labour enjoyed a persistent lead in the polls for over a decade. Having a clear ideology and a clear plan helped.

Palantir, a US spy-tech firm, has been given access to millions of NHS patient records.

Its founder has said the NHS should be 'ripped up'.

Join me in calling on the government to end the dangerous Palantir contract.

Hold up. A cash society wasn't a pain in the ass back when cash was universally accepted and debit/credit cards were a convenient option rather than a necessity. We've just needlessly abandoned/restricted a useful payment method and called it convenience. Cash should remain an option everywhere.

I think Starmer, a man who at least outwardly seems risk averse, made the awful decision that a high-risk strategy of placing a “friend of Trump” as the American ambassador was worth it for the good of the “special relationship” in such messed up times.
It backfired spectacularly.

💸 Brexit is predicted to have cost the UK economy a staggering 6-8% according to the latest study.

💰 That is equivalent to £180bn - £240bn A YEAR!
