I’m in MPLS.

For work I manage software products; for music I like electronics, hip hop, etc; I watch tv and movies; complain about politics; and I have a cat.

People, telling Google it can’t read your email means it (hopefully) won’t read your email.

They could have been more nuanced about their setting switches, but kiddos they’ve been using your emails to ad target you for decades.

Extremely upset that a throw-away XKCD joke somehow became the organizing principle for the Internet.

Oh I thought “dinky park” was a joke

(Fully support renaming, btw)
Mpls Park and Rec Board renames Marcy Park to Dinky Park

Dinky Park is located at 711 11th Ave SE, near the U of M campus and Dinkytown area.

The East Bank Neighborhoods Partnership officially submitted a request to rename the park to the MPRB in 2024.

For what it’s worth, in my iOS mobile app, these were hidden inside the data privacy category.

The app also glitched quite a bit when I disabled them, and somehow re-enabled them on its own.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

I do think some of us have legit concerns over the safety of these self-driving cars, but my guess is that the majority of the push back also stems from feeling stepped on by big tech.

They do little to actually better our community, and in this case they’re literally extracting money.

I have to double check the measurements, but I don’t think that this new cubic steam deck is going to fit in my carry on.

Because my assumption, just like the rest of y’all’s, is that Frey’s coalition is primarily built up of GOP voters and the moderate centrists who are islamophobic.

I have to assume any of the votes who went to Frey from the dropped candidates mostly into that last category.
November 5, 2025 at 6:03 PM
Is there any way to compare voting records for MPLS mayor with presidential votes? I’m curious how much of Frey’s itty bitty majority (0.03%) are republican.

The final big win of the night is secure.

A complete rout of MAGA, from coast to coast, with an unbelievable variety of candidates and constituencies.

A reminder that we outnumber them. When we vote, we win.

So vote.

Sit tight Minneapolis, we’ll know more tomorrow.
Because Frey didn't get more than 50% of the first round votes, no winner was declared yet and won't be until tomorrow at the earliest.

Ok so how does RC work? Do they re-run the results if someone doesn’t get a big majority or something?

I (not so secretly) love going to the polls on actual Election Day. It’s so special to go into a building you may never visit otherwise, interact in a non commercial way with people in your community, all without the pressure of small talk or networking! Let’s do more of this.
