It was simple, non-controversial extension on federal loans for a clean drinking water project. Then President Trump killed it to punish an entire state.

Colorado's Republicans and Democrats warned Congressional colleagues today that their community could be targeted next.

This is so bad. If you make such an important point about the number 1 threat to Americans and can’t provide any information just shows this administration is not serious about really protecting Americans and instead focusing on boogeymen and other low level or non existent threats.
GLASHEEN: Antifa is our primary concern right now. That's the most immediate violent threat we're facing

BENNIE THOMPSON: Where is antifa headquartered?

GLASHEEN: ... ... ... we are building out the infrastructure right now

THOMPSON: What does that mean?

Gee, wow, Poland can station its own fighter jets on its own territory, and can allow international partners to station there as well. Thanks for the permission, Moscow.

This thread, plucked from this week’s newsletter, will likely change your perspective on extreme wealth.
Part of this week’s newsletter was inspired by the post below. Was there a way to show the distance between normal Americans and the super wealthy?

Shapiro: He rose to some prominence by writing a book about growing up in Appalachia, where there are a whole lot of people who get SNAP. He made millions of dollars off telling their stories, and then he turned his damn back on those very people he likes to write about and claim as his own.

Military in the streets. Government in the boardroom.
Q: During the campaign, you called Kamala Harris a communist, but the Biden-Harris admin never called for nationalizing a private company like you're proposing with Intel. Is this the new way of doing industrial policy?

TRUMP: Yeah. Sure it is. I want to try to get as much as I can.

This is where it would help if newspapers or tv news shared a monthly or qtrly report/dashboard on the state of America. Corps are required to do it so the shareholders can gauge the health of their business & investment. All the business news channels cover the big earnings regardless of up/down

1. This week, the FBI released its comprehensive crime report for 2024, which revealed that both VIOLENT CRIME and PROPERTY CRIME reached their LOWEST LEVELS SINCE THE 1960s

This a massive story. But you might not have heard about it, even if you follow the news closely.

Here's why.

Why you might not know that 2024 was America's safest year since the 1960s
An overwhelming majority of Americans, 64 percent, believe that crime increased across the country in 2024, according to a Gallup survey conducted late last year.

All of this political party BS needs to be in a full blown ethics & voting package that needs to be the leading political focus in 28. Full transparency, no stocks, divestment requirements, fed funding incentives for redistricting committees & rank choice, parole committee, and EO limits for prez.
This should not happen. NY needs to keep the committee in place. I get the urge and need to do this but once it happens it will not go back. How is any of this legal?? Gerrymandering is pretty much purposefully throwing out some citizens vote for a congressional district.
