Becca got me a guitar kit earlier this year, finally got it all together! Happy with how it come out, learned a lot, and took longer than I expected ofc. Looking forward to continue tweaking things with it, but taking a break now.

In a less imperfect world, Musk and Trump would be forever cast as killers of children, and this would be front-page news for months and the subject of Sunday sermons in every church.
NEW: The death shadow cast by Musk.

“When U.S.-supported soup kitchens were forced to close, babies starved quietly, their mothers said, while older siblings died begging for food.”

The world’s richest man did this to the world’s poorest children.

Don’t ever forget.
In Sudan, where children clung to life, doctors say USAID cuts have been fatal
The Trump administration’s cuts to USAID had an immediate and deadly impact in war-ravaged Sudan, according to civilians, doctors and aid officials.

The Wikimedia Foundation, which owns Wikipedia, says its bandwidth costs have gone up 50% since Jan 2024 — a rise they attribute to AI crawlers.

Started off bad but "automated decision systems" covers basically everything and would be really, really bad
This is insane. Republicans have inserted language into the budget reconciliation bill that would ban states from regulating AI in any capacity for 10 years.

One of the defining feelings in American life, for decades now, is elites doing plainly criminal shit and nothing at all happening as a result. It is deranging in a way that virtually nothing else is. Media fixates on perceived street lawlessness but shit like this matters much more in my opinion.

I haven't agreed with a number of Senator Slotkin's votes and statements, but the virtual town hall she just finished hosting felt fairly transparent and informative. Stay active, stay engaged with your representatives, tell them what's important to you and what you want them to do about it.

Our doggo past away last night after a pretty sudden turn, she was 11.5 years. Harper was such an important part of our family. She truly loved our cats and was a great companion to them. Becca & I are devastated, and this week has been hard and complicated. Take care of the ones you love.
