It's fitting that the cover on AI mindlessly apes an earlier creation and also displaces workers while elevating Silicon Valley plutocrats.

Watched "You've Got Mail" last night and it seems like this movie is about a sociopathic obsessive cyberstalker from a sex pest family who ruins a woman's career and then gaslights her into entering a controlling relationship with him. Romantic!

“When participants used ChatGPT to draft essays, brain scans revealed a 47% drop in neural connectivity across regions associated with memory, language, & critical reasoning.

Their brains worked less, but they felt just as engaged—a kind of metacognitive mirage.”🧪

Time to procrastinate important end of the year tasks (at least for 3 days) by naively brute forcing algorithms and data structures I have never studied! But hey a solve is a solve

Pedantry at its fineëst
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

A bit of a vulnerable post by me but we need your help to get us through what has been a more difficult period than 2020.

It would be really appreciated if you could read and share in your networks too 💛

It’s been a very hard year - Andy Bell
Unlike a lot of places in tech, my company, Set Studio/Piccalilli has no outside funding. Bootstrapped is what the LinkedIn people say, I think. It’s been a hard year this year. A very hard year...

I love it when normal people make fun of tech/web stuff, even though it's what I do. Because usually they are right, most of it is cringe and full of itself

Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

Whether or not this feature is being used for AI, it sure has made me way lazier in what I let in and keep around in my email.

I just turned it off, which removes the multi-inbox auto sort thing, and what was 10 unread emails jumped to 19K 😳

You mean the insolent, emotionally stunted men who have made careers out of trolling their own communities are increasingly comfortable showing their true fascist colors since Jan 2025? What a surprise
Just in case you were wondering, Mr. Tailwind CSS himself is all cool with the fashy vibe. (This comes as no surprise to anyone paying any attention for the last several years…he's always palling around with best buddy DHH.)

We are rapidly approaching the Luddite uprising / Butlerian Jihad for AI because the grifters peddling it are transparently contemptuous of actual skilled labor. You think people who have invested their whole lives in a profession are just going to walk away?
